I've been listening to the Foo Fighter's cover of Prince's "Darling Nikki" a lot lately. That song rocks in so many ways.

What is your favorite cover?

Cake's version of Gloria Gaynor's I will Survive. I love that quirky timing and hip delivery.:thumbsup Very Bay Area, very cool.

Jimi playing "All Along the Watchtower" is pretty nice.

I also dig Johnny Cash's version of "Hurt." It's one of those things that really brings two opposites together. Good stuff.

Was driving around Phoenix the other night in a big ass SUV with JMan, Tanker, and Cameron blasting Bloodhound Gang's It's Tricky. Good song to drive around listening to :thumbsup

I usually hate covers as these days they are pretty much the domain of boy and girl b(l)ands .

That said, Placebo have just done a terrific cover of Kate Bush's 'Running Up That Hill'. One of the best covers I have heard.

Marilyn Manson's cover of Soft Cell's Tainted Love and Orgy's cover of New Order's Blue Monday. Both song I can rock out to no matter what.

yeah, I think his version of Tainted Love is better than Soft Cell's but did you know that soft cell's version is a cover song too?

haven't heard Cake's version of Gloria Gaynor's I will Survive - gotta check that out. and i always loved fine young cannibals doing suspicious minds.

we went to play with an old friend of mine who took up drums a little over a year ago and he wanted to play covers. we did wild thing but more metal-ly and we were screaming sex lyrics - it was fun :-) also did wipe out with pieces of the old batman theme mixed in.

That's a good song to cover. Dwight Yoakum did one as well. You're right though...nothing beats the Original by THE KING.

The Foo Fighters cover of "Have a Cigar" is pretty damn good.

They also did a cover of the Ace Frehley song, "Ozone" way back in 1995.
(yes, the Foos have been around that long already)

Both Easy and War pigs were very well done by them.

True that no one can beat the king on this song, but Yoakum makes it sound damn good too!

that rancid/nofx split was pretty horrid I think, shows that nofx and rancid are really only good playing their own songs lol
