I dont think many people are proud of war. We are proud of the men that served our country. Many past vets were drafted they had no choice. My hat is off to all vets though. Drafted or not.

It's better than some places. Do you not honor the veterans who gave their lives to protect your way of life? Do you not care, just as long as you make your money and talk your shit?

If someone is willing to die for me and my country, then I'm going to honor their memory. Those who have fought and are still alive, I honor them as well. I'm one of them. So is my husband. And to be perfectly honest with you, no America isn't the grandest place on earth. Our government sucks and there are a lot of things I'd change about it. But of all the places I've seen and all the palces I've read about, I still love my country and would rather live here than anywhere else.

Think about it. It's not like the soldiers and sailors are going to war just for shits n giggles. They go where they're told because they care enough to give of themselves for the country. Which is one hell of a lot more than you can say for yourself.

Why go to war in the first place.
Its always America that has to stick its nose in other peoplese business. You dont see us going to war with every country that farts our way. So we also dont need vets.

When I joined the Navy, it was partially for the money and the education benefits, but also because I'm proud of where I was born and raised. The government can kiss my ass. There's a difference between my country and my government. I'm sure this is beyond your scope of understanding, but here it is. I love my country. It's a beautiful place. I love the diversity of its people, the freedom I'm given (and often take for granted, I'm sorry to say), and the natural beauty that it holds. For that alone, I would fight. I love the wide open spaces. How's the Netherlands for wide open spaces? I love that if I make money doing what I want to do, I can continue to do so. I love being able to flip off old ladies coming out of church if I want to, or slamming the door in a Jehovah's Witness' face if I want to or even having the freedom to choose my religion, if any.

For my country, I'll fight. My government can go fuck itself. I was willing to die to defend her, and I would again if I needed to.
