MyBiznatch.com - Designer Needed
Guys,
If i got you the .psd files for the splash, tours and signup page ... How much would it cost me to change all the pics to sets that i actually have license for? Just wondering if its worth it for me to buy the sets, or just pay someone to change these. http://www.mybiznatch.com Thanks. |
since there isn't really much there to begin with.... if I was gonna do it, I'd ask you for your sets (licensed of course) and charge you probly $200 for the whole tour, and you'd get a much better tour than you got right now.
|
ICQ me if you don't mind, I'm sure we can work something out.. :glugglug
|
but that's me... (I don't speak for anyone else)... and I'm not available.
so there ya go. |

Too bad Amp is grounded... :( |
Amp, i understand ....
thing is, if it isnt cheaper than actually buying these sets, then it isnt worth it. I just wanna make this legal, im happy how the tours are. |

oh boy, clueless... png are fireworks files. changing those could be almost as easy as 1-2-3. |
this is the problem with you fucking hack designer fuckers.... you always try and jack your fucking clients for every damn penny....
you ever heard of GIVING SOME FUCKING VALUE??? It isn't always about the goddamned buck you bastards. Try satisfying a few people for LESS than they expect for a change.... you might be fucking surprised at how well that goes over. ahhhh fuck it. What do I know anyway. Beef jerky time. |

just ignore me... I'm tired and brain dead here...
I need to go to bed. |
i admit it. i'm a hack designer. i'm all about the buck. i jack my clients for every penny possible.
|
Well lets see.
I paid $50 for the shit ... and im left with 4 options: 1) pay few bills to have pics licensed. 2) pay few bills to have it legalized with new pics 3) trash the whole fucking thing and call it a $50 loss 4) wait for the hubby to come home who will prolly offer me more money just to return it to him intact |

Equinox, you owe me a buck. |

If you want honesty.... scroll. The site blows colon. Buy licensed content, hire a professional designer, get it set up properly, (programmers and whatnot)... find someone that knows marketing (yes, really), gather your promo tools and strategy, and launch from that base. anything short of that is equivalent to crossing your fingers and hoping Dr. Phil gives you good advice. Truth sucks... but it reigns supreme. |

I grabbed this because of the price, $50 is not much to lose for all that was offered, even if it was a chance it was too good to be true. Bottom line, if i cant make this work for little more than pennies more than i already have into it, its going in the can. If im going to start a site and dump money into it, I will begin production from start, and do it right ... not pick up where someone left off. |
I know this is a bit off topic, but any designer who does not give you the .PSD files when he gives you his final work, is playing fucking games with you.
The .psd files are part of what you are buying, that way if you need a change or a font or even a correction you can do it without having to pay someone for it. I got ripped hard by a designer this way, not naming names but amp knows him and has had problems with him as well Refused to give the .psd files, the delivery was shitty although in his defense his graphics where ok, just not worth what was paid.. |
a .png is not the source?
i dont have any photoshop files that came with this ... and i never used a .png i just assumed they used a different program to design it. |

If you got some traffic in that deal, then great.... otherwise, you got jacked. My recomendation would be to scrap it and start fresh with a realistic approach. |
.png is a compressed image similar to jpg
it is supposed to be lossless in nature a .psd file is a layer exposed file, the reason its so important is the graphic at one time was a series of layers, to remove a graphic would would just have to replace the layer. I do believe .psd is photoshop centric... |

no psd, no trasnferable TOUR content hmm
ugly situation. |

I have very mixed feelings on this still.... but for me, it's moot at this stage because I no longer contract. Point is: There's no definitive right or wrong regarding source file provision. It comes down to designer discretion. |
yes fireworks is png native, but unless is was not exported it is no longer source, as a matter of fact trying to display a source png will crash browsers...
if you want give me a download link for the .png file and ill tell you if the layers are exposed. |
PNG is only layered in FW.... anything else displays it flat.
|
I'm the Fireworks fucking guru. Anything you wanna know about FW, well.... I may or may not tell you... hehehe
|
AMP...
Ok im jaded by my experience I will give you that... But it was made clear in the discussion phase that I would require .psd or layer exposed files. I think that if the customer ask's then it should be factored into the price? |
>PNG is only layered in FW.... anything else displays it flat.
Even if exported as a web png? Does it still maintain the layer info? |

but in my case... I usually told them flat out, no source files. Only in the last 6 months was I ever truly pressured to give them up. And I did... without extra charge. (for specific clients only) But I'm hesitant to even say that, and I don't recommend that for any designer. If a client wants source files... CHARGE THEM FOR IT. That's my recommendation. Don't do as I did... do as I say... (kinda thing) or don't give them up. |
