Unless they eventually "find" weapons. Then the reason will change back again. :)

The war was so fast it was over before it started.

But if you want to see how the "Peace" is going you will have to log into a non US news base. I recommend The BBC online.

It would appear Bush has decided it's now a good idea to let the UN have a say in the future of Iraq. He must have been told by his business partners, sorry I meant his advisors, that this is the right way to go.

Mutt 05-20-2003 04:33 AM

The War's ratings decreased so the networks didn't pick it up for another round of episodes. They call it a 'hiatus' in the biz, it could be brought back in the fall to replace some of the early casualties of the new fall TV schedule. Probably will need new storylines, just has to be punched up.

They are currently casting for auditions in Iran.

Would you please name the business/businesses that the President is involved with and also name his business partners?

Which business/businesses is it that the President is invovled with and who are his business partnters.

The only one that I see from your link that the President had any connection is Harken Energy and that was in 1986.

This is a little more current info about Harken Energy.

http://www.harkenenergy.com/

I cannot find any mention of the President.

Excerpt from a speech delivered in 1933, by Major General Smedley Butler, USMC:

War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses.

I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag.

I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket.

"We have "solid" evidence Iraq possesses weapons of mass destruction." GW - December 6, 2002

?Right now, about half of all the top Al Qaeda operatives are either jailed or dead. In either case, they?re not a problem anymore.? George Bush - May 5, 2003

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our Number one priority and we will not rest until we find him!" -- George W. Bush, September 13, 2001

"I don't know where bin Laden is. I have no idea and I really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority." -- George W. Bush, March 13, 2002

The internal infrastructure of Iraq was in worse condition than anticipated.

Looting and general lawlessness is still rampant and beyond the control of coalition forces. This is preventing people from returning to work, because they fear leaving their homes will subject their property to looting. By key sectors of the populus not returning to work, its difficult to restart even basic civil operations to provide security and produce essential services such as electricity by the Iraqi people themselves. This is creating a perpetual cycle of instability.

With Saddam's iron grip removed, the people have been liberated politically. However this has created a deeply fractionalized political climate where various parties that were grossly repressed now feel they should have more say and power in the rebuilding process. Iran has been trying to infiltrate and seed extremism as well.

End result, coalition forces and eventually UN forces will end up providing security and country rebuilding services for many years to come.

I think your last sentence was a given from day one...and the end result may not be a successful result.

they must be hidden or he has secret facilities to make them. why else would be fuck the inspectors around? obviously he had something to hide.

The proof is pretty much all over the place. However, anything having to do with chemical weapons can be disguised as something perfectly legit. Hasn't the US found two mobile chemical labs, chemicals burried underground, and a very odd checmical plant diguised so that it couldn't be seen from the air?

HeadPimp 05-20-2003 08:36 AM

Everyone has their right to their opinion, and I don't agree with everything our government does, but you know what?
America still kicks ass. I can get up every day, do the work I love (at least most days I love it) and go my entire week without wondering if a war is going to break out on my street.

Let me also point out the if Bush was Hitler, we would have taken Syria, and Saudi by now.

Marissa 05-20-2003 09:18 AM

We won the war while the French were too busy with their heads in the sand or was it that they were too busy shaving each other down, well whatever it was we won anyway! They haven't found Saddam yet but most of his men have been captured or they just gave up on their own!
