Wtf happened with ICQ? I didn't ask for upgrade and it looks terrible right now.
What is last normal looking version?

1998.................

Yeah. It totally sucks.

And I lost my history...

I am not sure what was the last version I was using.
Here you have older version and all I've tried (3 different) works fine but I didn't find verison I had until today

i haven't used icq in a decade - and it was antiquated when i used it a decade ago

the only mode of communication in your signature being icq makes you totally inaccessible to a huge amount of people

Recently ICQ got a major upgrade to version 10.0 (and it looks more like Viber of WhatsApp) but I still use Trillian but as I noticed less and less people contact me using ICQ nowdays..

I like the look of the new version (can not find history of previous chats though).

Most of my contacts still use it so until they don't,I will continue to use

Sure I am using skype , but there are so many people using ICQ. Lis tis huge ant they are all online.

People saying that you do not need ICQ are out of touch with the reality. Especially those saying that you did not need it even years ago...

I agree, just didn't want to be rude. Personally, from some reason, I like to use ICQ for business more

skype is the way to go. I gave up ICQ about 2 years ago

switched to qip like 15 years ago... since it uses almost no bandwidth at all, I just leave it there.. many ppl still use it :D and the icq spam messages are still awesome.

ICQ might suck but the reality is a lot of people still only use ICQ. If you do not do business with others, then dropping ICQ if you want is not a big deal. But if you do any business at all with anyone, eliminating ICQ from your arsenal is quite the mistake.

I like the new chat option but I lost all my groups! WTF?

Using miranda as alternative icq manager many years - all ok with it :) Also miranda have nice plugins for external hitory in txt files.

i use them only on the mobile version and its quite good

the new icq is not thaat bad, still need time to get used to it :)

ICQ is for old school vets and those who want to stay in touch with them. The recent changes at least for me show ICQ looking more like Skype. I use both but there are companies that I know that still use IRC (mirc) to communicate with one another. I still shake my head on that

I am trying to get used to new version 10 but it looks empty and like the copy of Viber desktop. Years of looking in more or less same interface make this change unbearable.

I have a feeling that tons of options are missing. So, what is the last "normal"version before 10? I've went up to 7 ( I think) and still didn't found what I was using before.

If you install 7, I believe 10 will be installed next time you start your pc, did that to me TWICE. Not sure if any settings can block the update though.

Version 7 M wasn't updated after restart. Maybe because I have version 10 also installed.

I've left the industry and came back. It still has all my contacts even though people have moved all over lol! I haven't seen the upgrade.
