Apology to Bush-Bashers everywhere

I'm sorry, I had no idea that you were so eminently qualified to second-guess the POTUS. I had no clue that you know more about what is going on in Iraq than the US president does. How could I know that you know more about what is in the best interest of the USA's future well-being and what are the right moves to ensure lasting world peace than the US commander-in-chief???

Forgive me your eminence(s).

Had any of you actually ran for president I would surely have moved to the States and voted for you.

Sly_RJ 03-17-2003 10:57 AM

It's ok. No worries, CD. You're just another victim that's fallen prey to the American propaganda machine. It's not your fault.

Absolutely. It's going to take years of de-programming therapy.

I should sue the US Gov't.

Interlude 03-17-2003 11:10 AM

Hating the president has a long and illustrious history, going back to long before any of us were born. Bush is really no better or worse than any of a long string of shitty politicians, he's just a much lousier diplomat.

goBigtime 03-17-2003 11:17 AM

POTUS. Nice. :1orglaugh

Dubya has a POTUS mouth, Dubya has a POTUS mouth!

CDSmith 03-17-2003 11:17 AM

I think he's worth applauding for taking a hard line on the middle east, Iraq, muslims, terrorism, and saddam insane.

As I said once before....

It's always easy to criticize the US and the American president while sitting up in the cheap seats. Armchair critics like you don't have all the facts, you don't have all the intel reports that the president has, you don't have hundreds of deep-cover operatives feeding you the facts, yet you people purport yourselves as being wiser and more intelligent than the president? Yeah, right. Why exactly should anyone listen to you?

It is not a question what Bush knows it is a question what he tell you, and he is telling you lies... And fuck commander-in-chief. He is an idiot. Think for your self. You are bragging about how USA is land of freedom, but your minde is not free. You are just thinking what you are told to think

goBigtime 03-17-2003 11:29 AM

I think some of us undoubtedly are wiser and more intelligent than the president - hes only an electecd man. Probably not myself though.. I'm a dummy :helpme

I can't say I know whats going on in the middle east, all I can say is that it doesn't feel like its a war on terrorisim.

These idiots will use anything to prop up their failing argument.

He's obviously not thinking what he's told to think, since it seems most of the world is against whatever Bush says. Therefore, if CD were actually a "sheep", he would probably agree with all of your sentiments.

Furthermore, CD Smith is from Canada. It was my understanding that Canada wasn't exactly pro-Bush, although I could very well be wrong. Like myself, CD Smith probably often finds himself debating and arguing with others, because a good chunk of the others think differently than him.

You don't see a problem with the fact that a comment like that could be applied to any leader? It effectively exempts any leader, anywhere, at any time, from public criticism.

You could have defended Hitler from criticism with the same nonsense.

All I am personally suggesting is that the opinions of "these idiots" represent about 50% of the United States of America, and a much higher number world wide.

It's a bad situation for our nation and president to be in.

The USA doesn't invade and conquer, so comparing them to Hitler is the actual nonsense here. The only person remotely comparable to Hitler is Saddam himself.

Squawk all you want, it's going to happen regardless. The Iraqi dictatorship will fall, Saddam will be dealt with, the country will be rebuilt, and it will become a better place for it's citizens to live in. The USA will not retain ownership of the country, but will certainly monitor it's well-being.

Hitler raped, used and devastated the countries he conquered, where exactly do you see a parallel to the US here guttersnipe?

goBigtime 03-17-2003 11:47 AM

CD you think that IRAQ is it for us? You think we're stopping there? :1orglaugh

There are A LOT of people in the world that could be considered terrorists (excluding North Korea of course, though I'm not sure why - ah yes, because they have weapons of mass destruction.)

And depending on how seriously Bush takes his "...Your either with us or against us..." that list may be growing.

It will stop when the job is done.

I never said anything about it stopping with Iraq. My comments were only about Iraq. Where did you see me write that the US would stop it's war on terrorism/war on rogue countries after Iraq?

I didn't.

So don't invent shit.

Yeah, I do. It'll be years of UN resolutions and diplomacy (the Iraqi situation has been going on for over a decade) before we move on to someplace else, if ever.

In all honesty, I'm an isolationist and don't think the US should be involved in this war to begin with. But that doesn't mean that most anti-war people are right, either... most use arguments that are pretty fucking stupid (as do some in the pro-war camp).

The statement above suggests it is not our agenda to invade and conquer & unless you have links to a college report somewhere proving that, then its hard to say what my government is up to.

Of course I *hope* everything is being done for all the right reasons, I just fear it isn't, or isn't being well thought out.

If there is a propaganda machine, unless its job is to divide the country and the world on the war, then it doesn't seem to be working.

Ok... I guess its your turn to go now right? :glugglug

I don't need evidence. Bush's actions alone speak volumes about what information he has at his disposal. The sheep will be informed of all this information when it is safe to reveal it I'm sure.

If the critics are right, then Bush will have a lot of 'splainin to do won't he? Especially come election time.

But if I'm right, and I think that I am, then all will be revealed at some point and the sheep will shut the fuck up, God-willing.

Of the 535 members of Congress, only ONE (Sen. Johnson of South Dakota) has an enlisted son or daughter in the armed forces!

First you bash me and discount my opinions assuming I'm an alcoholic, and now because I don't drink enough.

And of course, your original post was baited anyway.

The truth be told, most negative comments about the war would be better described as "anti-Bushism" not "anti-Americanism".
