Here's a cool gun safe

Sleeping with a gun by the bed. For what third world country is this commercial made where that is necessary?

ruff 02-05-2014 01:21 PM

A real man would just wear his gun to bed in a holster.

So you are against gun safety, you want kids to have access to loaded firearms?

bronco67 02-05-2014 01:25 PM

The opening seconds to this video is every gun nut's wet dream. The possibility of justified homicide in your own residence. You can see the guy salivating a little at the possibility as he rolls out of bed.

James Bond sleeps with it under his pillow.

This seems really neat, it really does... But if you aren't wearing that ring or the bracelet you are shit out of fucking luck.

I'm sorry, middle aged men being woken up from a dead sleep and taking on armed intruders in the dark just cracks me up. You wake me up at 3am from a dead sleep and I am utterly worthless for the first five minutes. Your best bet is to move to a nicer area, get an alarm system, and get a dog.

Also... I have a locked box for important documents, passports, that kind of stuff... And we lost the keys. Using a small little crowbar and a hammer it took me all of twenty seconds to get inside. Does't matter what it's made of, the lock and the hinges are fragile.

Good advise, criminals haven't thought to go where the good stuff is.

You don't have to wear the ring or bracelet, it has bio metric and that can be opened just like hitting the snooze alarm.

And your lock box can be opened a lot faster than you think. I have 2 safes. One if a fire safe that you would need to spend hours on to break into, it's old and needs a combination and a key to get into. The other is a gun safe, it is easier to get into, just drill holes till you find the right place and with a crow bar, bend the lock shafts and the door will open.

Still better and safer.

As for safe neighborhoods, the I5 killer hit 2 doors down from where my mother lived back in the late 70's I think. She lives in a remote good area, she has a carry permit.

Never owned a gun and unless I move south of the border I doubt I ever will. That said I would buy this type of product if I had a gun in the house, no doubt about it.

Apparently you don't have fingers to work the bio-metrics which also makes it difficult to pull the trigger. Clearly you have no use for a gun in the first place. :winkwink:

Pretty cool but the one with the GPS is $475. Will keep my GunVault MV500 until the pricing comes down.

I'm no gun nut and I can't wait for the day that OBAMA REALLY DOES COME AND TAKE AWAY YOUR GUNS, but I don't see this as a bad product.

Too many kids of assholes blow their brains out accidentally thanks to asshole parents who leave their guns loaded and in easy to find places. Then too many more assholes call for even fewer restrictions, bitching and moaning and threatening and crying about "freedom" and "second amendment" bullshit.

If this box works, it might be a good way of saving kids of assholes. There will never be any hope for assholes though.

Lol! Nice one. Too many innocent people die in the US all the time thanks to gun violence, and instead of addressing the matter, the NRA goes into full-asshole mode and try to scare people into buying more guns. And like I said, I'm no gun nut but I think that this way of storing handguns looks like a decent idea towards solving a part of the problem.

In the majority of your posts you bash America or Americans in some way shape or form. Your political views and bashing of Americans who don't view life as you do is ridiculous.

Again, mind your own fucking business. I'm glad your country is perfect.

I have to ask, are you retarded?

I mean, if you are into guns, this is a great way to keep your pistol where you can get it if needed and from your kids.

If you are against guns, this keeps your gun from getting stolen and from kids shooting themselves.

You don't get it because I think you retarded!

Plain and simple, this is a very cool product that can do something for responsible gun owners that want to keep guns from the wrong people.
If you can't see that, move on, nothing for you to see here!

So if you think I don't get it, please explain it to me, I feel a really good laugh coming on if you do!

We agree on this, shocker!

But I have to ask, ever seen a NRA full tilt guy go on a shooting rampage?

For the most part, the NRA wants to teach respect for firearms.

And they lobby against idiots like Diane Feinstien that had a carry permit and worked to take guns away from legal owners.

The laws that the government passes only effects those that obey the law. Give me a way to get guns away from those that have them illegally and I will listen!

Mark-
Lets see if you can wrap your peabrain around these statistics.

In 1929, the Soviet Union established gun control. (Stalin) From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917, 1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Germany established gun control in 1938. (Hitler) From 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Jews and others who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated.

China established gun control in 1935. (Mao Tse-tung) From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981, 100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Uganda established gun control in 1970. (Idi Amin) From 1971 to 1979, 300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

Cambodia established gun control in 1956. (Pol Pot) From 1975 to 1977, one million educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated.

aawww leave the little guy alone, it's cute the way he thinks his opinion matters

If I had kids in the house I would probably get one of those, but I don't so I'll just have to continue sharing my bed with the M2

JayAllan 02-05-2014 06:33 PM

If my MP5k fit in this I would totally get one!

When somebody comes into your bedroom, and you need a gun to defend yourself, i'm not sure they will wait for a full body scan, retina scan, passcode and cock-size check just so you can get your little .22 out.

bronco67 02-05-2014 08:03 PM

One night at around 4am, I woke up because my Lab was growling, while looking down the stairs. It took about 3 seconds to register, but I jumped out of bed butt naked and ran over there. False alarm, but I was ready like Wesley Snipes.

If I had a gun, am I going to shoot and kill someone? Probably, but I don't ever want to. I realize there's a chance someone could kill me in the middle of the night, but it's not worth getting a gun just for that purpose. I've got just as much gun experience as anyone in this thread. I've fired everything from a Ruger 10/22(my favorite) to the M249 SAW. I've owned a Beretta 92f, a Mossberg 500 and I built my own AR15 piece by piece through the mail. So I'm not being a liberal hippie.

I've come to believe that once you get a gun, your chances of shooting someone have gone from 0 to 1000%. Especially if the pretense for getting gun was self-protection.

But if someone wants to go that way, then have fun dealing with the consequences of either getting it right, or even worse getting it wrong. A baseball bat is fine.

Theo 02-05-2014 08:09 PM

Its great product

The way to do it just not be a culture that has so many fucking guns floating around in circulation. Guns that end up as criminal weapons weren't created for criminals, they're created for you, the "good guys". There's no factory making black market guns.

That means making it even tougher to get a gun. If you're on the margins, then you can't have one, plain and simple. But then who determines what the margin is? You can't deny there's been some shootings lately where the question could have been asked "should we really sell a gun to this guy?"

Now your reply is "guns, guns, guns!!! Give everyone guns."

I guess you can Pretend it will go away?
If you say you are unarmed, the bad guy will fell sorry and drop his weapon also?
Pull the Covers Over your head?
Hide under the bed?

Or, maybe just maybe the adrenaline will kick in, and you protect your Family!

Good Job Marine!

There are plenty of guns out there that are illegal to own, period! Yes made illegal right off the bat!

Unless you have a record or a mental problem that's documented, you should be able to own a gun, period!!

And who can make a determination as to who can own a gun? No One!

And for the record, I have a sword next to my bed, it's very sharp!!

izombie 02-05-2014 10:08 PM

I would buy one if I had kids, but I don't so just keeping my 357 next to the bed will do just fine for now.

I think he meant a full size gun safe, something that would hold 28+ rifles. Standup Liberty or Fort Knox style safes.

Biometrics is cool but it is far from accurate. The technology is still not quite there yet. Finger has to be at the correct angle for the scanner to read. I was at Cabelas a month ago looking at them and maybe only 2 out of 5 times did it read my print on the first swipe. In the other cases it took 2-3 finger swipes.

Push button combo's are still the way to go for fast access to your firearms.

That has been available for YEARS. In fact, bio-metrics have been available on small safes for years too. The GPS function, mobile notifications, and USB ports are new though.

I was under the impression that you had to be wearing the ring or the bracelet to open it.

No, I really don't have a need for "protection". I live in a safe city, have a dog, and an alarm, no issues. We had a robbery in the house across the street a few years back, but a skinny fourteen year old kid in his undies chased them out of the house.
