Did you pass your driving test first time ??

I was speaking to an old school friend today and she was telling me how she had passed her driving test last week. At the 8th attempt !!

Seemed pretty pleased with herself, but all i kept thinking was "that probably still means you are a really shitty driver, but you perhaps got lucky enough on this attempt?"

Were you a first timer ?? :upsidedow

I think anyone who fails a few times should just accept they are shit and get the bus... :2 cents:

Feng-PD 01-22-2014 10:27 AM

yes! !

Kolargol 01-22-2014 10:38 AM

yes. but it really is very different in other countries. not everywhere it's so easy to get a license like in USA or UK.

nexcom28 01-22-2014 10:39 AM

I think a lot of it is down to nerves. I failed twice passed on my 3rd attempt.
After that went into multi drop driving, truck driving and chauffeuring.

Just cos it takes a few attempts to do something shouldn't mean you should give up.

EddyTheDog 01-22-2014 10:42 AM

Yes, first time...

I tore it up after my 2nd DUI though - So I wont be too cocky about it.....

CourtneyR 01-22-2014 10:45 AM

yup, passed the first time.

PornDude 01-22-2014 10:57 AM

Nooo. There are 3 o for a reason :D

topsiteking 01-22-2014 10:58 AM

First time here as well.

beerptrol 01-22-2014 11:06 AM

No! I pulled out a 40 and a blunt while listening to NWA. I did offer her some!

Creatine 01-22-2014 11:11 AM

First time yea. Easy as fuck.

Jman 01-22-2014 11:16 AM

Was 16 and passed it with flying colors ;)

freecartoonporn 01-22-2014 11:26 AM

is this a test ?

Ross 01-22-2014 11:35 AM

First time, 3 minor infractions, 17 years old, drove to school the next day and all my friends were pumped. I was only the second person in my year group to be able to drive.

L-Pink 01-22-2014 11:38 AM

Had my motorcycle license no problem. Took the car test in my mothers 90 foot Plymouth-Chrysler station wagon that died twice while attempting to parallel park it. Aced it 2 weeks later in my fathers P1800 Volvo.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 01-22-2014 11:45 AM

No way, and I'll explain why...

The State Trooper that conducted my road test, told me that I did fine (I aced parallel parking, etc), but instead of passing me, he lectured me about teenage drunk driving, and said that he never passes teenagers on their first test.

Vendzilla 01-22-2014 11:54 AM

Aced the written, got a 95 on the driven in a 65 Mustang driving a stick.

Still can't believe how many people can't parallel park a car. I do my truck almost everyday with about an inch of clearance to the curb on the rears and my fronts on the curb in my pickup.

Captain Kawaii 01-22-2014 12:03 PM

Yes, at 15.
Just took it here in Tokyo. 90%, 1 error. Test is easier here. No trick questions. Just straight up do you know the answer or not.

eh? The UK is easy? How do you work that out?

media 01-22-2014 12:58 PM

Passed the first time.. test instructor said I'd obviously been driving alot longer than stated.. but he passed me still :)

baddog 01-22-2014 01:00 PM

Yes, I passed. Lost 15 points for failure to yield to a train, but I still had enough points to pass. 16th birthday.

As I recall, you need a 75% to pass; I still had 10 points to give up and still pass.

bronco67 01-22-2014 01:15 PM

I failed my first test because I went over the line on the shoulder before making a right turn -- which is a bad habit I picked up from watching my mom drive. When she first gave me lessons, she also fucked me up with another bad practice. She said I need to use one foot on the brake and one on the gas, until my dad found out about that and never allowed her to give me driving lessons again. And he was pissed to find out she used both feet to drive. If you're a race car driver it's one thing, but the average person is asking for problems with two footed driving.

Here, that would be 1 major, and a fail. Regardless of how everything else went...

I think the instructor would kick you out of the car...

nico-t 01-22-2014 01:28 PM

i think in the US with only a huge brake pedal and gas pedal it's much easier than manual transmission in europe. I think automatic transmission feels like driving one of those electric children cars i'd imagine :1orglaugh
By the way i passed right away too :thumbsup

Tittytweaker 01-22-2014 01:35 PM

Failed the first time. Screwed up somehow in a left turn lane. Plus, I had to take the test in a town that was like an hour a way, since the local license branch didn't do the driving portion of the test, so that threw me off.

Got it the second time, though.

It was kind of weird, I'm a pretty safe and cautious driver, but the chick that supervised really enjoyed making a show of slamming herself into the side of the door and jutting forward when I eased on the brakes.

Jel 01-22-2014 01:35 PM

1st time, with only 2 lessons under my belt, and a 3rd 1 hour lesson right befoe the test. Thought I was going to fail for sure as I got NONE of the (5 or 6) questions at the end right!

seeandsee 01-22-2014 01:47 PM

I got it after 2nd time, 1st i burned a car on right :)

No harm; no foul.

But it was funny; the form had Failure to Yield then sub categories: car, pedestrian, bicycle and other with a line to fill in what the "other" was. He wrote in train.

How unlike a female to wildly over-exaggerate things :1orglaugh :thumbsup

PiracyPitbull 01-22-2014 02:18 PM

UK: First time pass after 18 lessons.

US: First time pass, no lessons since UK test 15 years earlier.

US driving test is a joke in my state. You drive an automatic and it's literally a 10 minute drive around the block plus twenty multiple choice questions.

They give you a car to drive? What state is that?

Choopa_Pardo 01-22-2014 02:21 PM

Passed the written and practical test on my first tries, no problem.

You use your own. It was an auto.
