Saddam sounded like an intelligent guy that makes you think he's all for the people but uses his power for his own political and economic gain....he'd make and excellent US Senator.

uh i just watched part of it... and hes boasting about how the PEOPLE OF IRAQ elected him in 96 and '01 i believe, with a 99.6% / 100% favor.. according to him its because the people wanted to take a patriotic stance.. bullshit, if they didn't vote for him atleast 50% of their family members would get raped.

What you have to remember is that pre Saddam, the country had little electricity, sanitation, education, hospitals or roads. He gave them something that no one else bothered to.

You have Iraq on one side with Al Sammud missile's that may reach 160KM, 10KM over the limit. Iraq has also allowed inspectors in their country and have cooperated quite well significantly according to Blix's last report. On the other side you have North Korea which has missile's that can reach the US coast (1,120KM), they have pulled out of the non-proliferation treaty, and have kicked out inspectors. You also have North Korea asking the States to bring a war to them!!

But ofcourse, the threat lies in Iraq. lol

No, Saddam isn't exactly about Utopia.. but there are much bigger threats existing such as North Korea. You must face the fact, Iraq isn't a threat. They just have OIL that Bush and his economy needs.

What brought us down to our knees was not the boxcutters, but the fact that we are not used to terroristic events happening on our homeland regardless of Oklahoma, and the previous WTC attack.

I guarantee you anybody else tries to take over another plane with some boxcutters all you'll find is a greasy red spot when it lands safely.

I'm just saying it's sad that Iraq gets penalized for having missiles that go 10KM to far, and N Korea doesn't when they have ones that go 1,000KM to far. In addition, no interest lies in North Korea, since no oil exists under their land.

This isn't really a response to what you are posting here just a continuation of a thought.

I think you also have a lot of fear in N. Korea, they know what the US is capable of doing (overthrowing their government) and want to do what they can to keep this from happening.

Imagine if the Taliban had just turned over Osama Bin Laden they would still be in power. There would still be the weekly executions at the soccer field, daily oppressive beatings of women etc.

But because of dogma and pride they lost it all.

I think the rest of these countries that Bush and team have labled as "axis of evil," now realize what just may happen to them.

There is a huge difference between Iraq and N Korea.

The problem with N Korea has pretty much exisited for the past fifty years. N Korea doens't gas it's own population, and doesn't invade countries and start wars for no reason. We are not questioning their right to have such items, only the fact that they refuse to let anyone inspect them.

Iraq invaded a small country and raped it, setting fire to everything as they tucked their tails between their legs and ran home. They surrendered; There were terms to the surrender which they seem to violate on a daily basis.

I don't understand Iraq. They are sitting on tons of oil, yet they can't seem to feed themselves. Instead they have a leader bent on taking over the middle east. Whatever.

I am not a sympathzer of Saddam, but I laugh loudly at America's hypocrisy when it comes to 'human rights'. I don't mind Bush saying he might attack us as reason for launching an attack. But Bush and the media are using what he does to HIS people as part of why we should go in. I could give a fuck about what he does to his people over there. That is THIER business. I don't see how the US won the pen to write the book on what human rights and freedom is. When did we decide morality for the world?
