So Croatia joined the EU... I feel pity for you guys!
Taxes will grow every day, millions of Kuna will be thrown out the window on some mega-useless EU projects, you'll get hit everyday but all sort of EU regulations, small private business will close down in a very short time because of the impossibility to respect all EU laws and regulations for their domain of activity, the daily living price will rise instantly, you'll no longer be a Sovereign state but rather a state ruled my Merkel....
but don't worry, just enjoy the moment, Croatians have centuries ahead to regret it... |
I think still better than being outside.. most if not all countries profited more than being outside..
|
yep,congrats for the national suicide

Even the older members of the EU are complaining about being to hard to stay in the EU... Of course, one could say that Italy, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, Greece etc, did not knew hot to handle finances and money but then if all the countries with financial problems would disappear from the EU , who would it be left, Germany alone (which it should be said is complaining about the fact that it pays the bill of poorer countries)? |
So i finaly wake up after partying in night and checked streets....And i dont see milk and honey floating!WTF is this bullshit,i want my money back ! :1orglaugh

C'mon it's not exactly Hotel California. They can step out anytime they want, if they don't like it there.
Congrats neighbors. |
Better roads, financial aid for many of their industry sectors, their tourism (huge part of their economy) will probably start growing with at least 10% per year. And if you want to watch Man United live, all you need is a few hundred bucks for a plane ticket, no standing in line for visas and all that crap.
The EU with all its shit and problems has no alternative, collectively, the EU is the biggest economy in the World and that gives us a lot of leverage. The reason everybody and their cousins are bitching is because they are pussies, the economy got bad, people lost jobs, yeah, it is tough ... guess what, man up, Europe has seen much worse. |

I don't think it will significantly change the life in Croatia. Somebody will gain, somebody will lose :2 cents:

as for "sovereign state" this is a complete illusion...there are 3-4 sovereign states total and they have nasty nukes and a way to deliver...all the rest are not sovereign by any stretch of the imagination... |
Welcome back to the Soviet Union :)

Enjoy the pitance you receive in blood money for the financial slavery of your futures, your children's futures and your children's, children's futures :2 cents: http://www.snilek.cz/media/texts/eus...u-eu/eussr.jpg Have a conversation with the Irish, Greek, Spanish, Italians, Portugese etc about how those EU grants are working out for them now! |

that was quick, last i read croatia was still handing over war criminals in an attempt to get accepted into the eu.
|
"EU funds" are myth, very few individuals or companies can access them and it takes a lot of paperwork to get it done. If you live in countries where corruption is high only certain "applicants" are qualified to get the so called "EU funds".
On the other hands I wonder how many Croatian Holiday Pensions will manage to comply with the never ending regulations regarding holiday Pensions... |

1. This is one of the exceptions, it has valid background for it (respected banking system) 2. Who knows if Switzerland would not have been even better if joined EU? |

i am still a big fan of the EU besides all negative things that of course exist as well.
but opposed to the young folks on here, i remember how it was before - and no, not everything was better in the past so: welcome Croatia! |

Ireland went from being one of the poorest countries to being the second richest in the EU, despite the recession they are still third. Portugal who was at the bottom with Ireland doubled their GDP in the 10+ years since joining. Spain profited too but spent too much on megalomaniac projects. Italy and Greece are just too corrupt to manage any sort of funds. If some thought the party would last forever and didn't manage to put money aside during the Boom years you can't really blame the Eu for that :2 cents: |
So Croation pussy is also added to product list of European content producers?
|
It is just strange that Croats who fought a bloody war for independence now voluntarily sacrifice that independence for EU. Guess this was the wish of the young ones.
States with an average salary of 800 EUR can hardly play a game with states where the average is 3000 EUR. The whole idea behind EU is stupid. I hope their dictatorship falls very soon. Fuckin hate their stupid laws. |
cool, another black hole on my eu map ... hidden cops have been smoking ganja on beaches just to catch tourists who wanted to buy ... cops have been throwing all the food you had for travel to trash just to make you buying their crap ... and so and so and so, what a stupid country it is ... now lets welcome iran to eu! iran and uzbekistan! cant wait! :Oh crap

I am surprised at how Brits tolerate all those migrants. |

Ireland also had one of if not the biggest housing bubble in the EU which has resulted in a catastrophic crash in prices. Irish banks are ALL insolvent and the next EU bailout will most likely result in depositors loosing their savings, the Cyprus incident was pretty much a blueprint for future EU terms and conditions for bailouts. Irish emigration is now at highest point since the Famine. None of this reckless lending through MBS was the fault of the people yet everyone in the EU is paying for it through crazy austerity measures and a big fall in living standards. Quote:
