Netflix Recommendations

I've been slacking lately on movie watching, can any of the fine folk of GFY recommend a movie to try?

Jakez 03-06-2012 11:02 PM

"Rubber" is.. different. And very entertaining if you're patient (and maybe high).

SmutHammer 03-06-2012 11:13 PM

just watched Never back down 2. not as good as the first one, but wasn't bad :)

Tucker & Dale vs. Evil :thumbsup

Disappointed with Netflix lately. It's kind of like going to the video store's oldies section where you've seen everything thats interesting to you. I found myself switching between several movies at the same time last week.

I heard their content used to be alot better but they lost the license for a few studios or something. I hope they get it back otherwise I'll probably close my account soon.

AllAboutCams 03-07-2012 12:14 AM

i dont get it here

I feel the exact same way. there were some good series. Kyle xy, Borgia, Merlin, Roswell, etc. to bad Starz is no longer with them. Seems that Hulu + also is sucking pretty bad...

I'd recommend something, but every time I go to Netflix they don't have what I want available on Instant watch.

I did watch "Elite Squad 2" recently. Kick ass Brazilian cop movie.

CyberHustler 03-07-2012 08:28 AM

Mark

Depends if you have netflix . CA --- or --- netflix . COM :winkwink:

Remember, Netflix will never ever replace your video club with recent releases. If you like good TV series though, then yes it's the way to go with the . COM :thumbsup

Evil Chris 03-07-2012 09:08 AM

Netflix still sucks pretty bad in Canada. Except maybe for kids shows. Lot's for my son to watch.

ruff 03-07-2012 10:56 AM

Hugo, The Rum Diary, The Fighter, Real Steel, Rise of the Planet of the Apes, Super 8, Green Lantern, Captain America: The First Avenger, Sucker Punch, The Adjustment Bureau, The King's Speech, True Grit.

Mark,

Get a ROKU, signup up to NetFlix, Hulu, and Amazon prime and you have no need to pay for cable.

Roku will be released in Canada soon.

Masters of Horror: Takashi Miike: Imprint

I watched this on Netflix a couple days ago.

It takes a bit to warm up but about 10 mins or so into it you're like WHAT THE FUCK :thumbsup

The fighter was good.. Green lantern was awful (and i'm a fan of the comics)

I have to check out the rest of them, where do you think I should start?

SexSearchSuzanne 03-08-2012 06:05 PM

I just discovered they have seasons of Futurama on Netflix that I didn't even know existed. I've been making my way through them recently.

I was considering cancelling my Netflix streaming subscription, there is a lot of content but I feel like a lot of it is really bad movies no one has ever heard of.

Deej 03-08-2012 06:15 PM

Ive been watching Rescue me for like a week and a half. 93 god damned episodes.

There are at least 2 BD threads on the subject:
Heres one:
https://gfy.com/showthread.php?t=1051...hlight=netflix

Heres my list:
Surviving the Game
Last Man Standing
Doing Hard Time
The Code(Thick as Thieves)
The Joneses
Poolhall Junkies
A Fork in the Road
Hobo with a Shotgun
Undertow
Rites of Passage
The Horseman
Johnny Skidmarks
Presumed Innocent
Route 9
Coldblooded

And to tickle for funny bone Lisa Lampanelli

That should keep you busy for couple of hours.

I don't think it matters. The good thing is you don't have to pay full movie price to see a movie that turns out to be garbage. Real Steal and Hugo probably a good place to start.

mikesouth 03-08-2012 09:20 PM

Imprint is great...a pretty fucked up little movie but amazing film making

Varius 03-09-2012 01:47 AM

I can't wait for Roku. Sadly we don't have Hulu here.

adultfriendlyhosting 03-09-2012 08:47 AM

Imprint was one of the best in that Masters of Horror series. I wish they would bring it back.

adultfriendlyhosting 03-09-2012 08:51 AM

Try Thankskilling ahhaha :thumbsup

alextokyo 03-09-2012 09:11 AM

I'm assuming you've seen all the classics like Heat and Donnie Brasco...

Outrage is pretty good. Shame they got a retard to voice the trailer. Apparently, in the yaKOOOOza, there is a chain of command. Only bad things about this movie, too much rice dick Napoleon complex and too many fucking sentences ending in "bakayarou" or "konoyarou".

Rampart is also a OK flick. See Microcosmos or Night on Earth if you haven't seen them.

MattPIVO 03-09-2012 01:35 PM

This is a pretty badass trailer^^^

candyflip 03-09-2012 02:25 PM

My kids have Roku boxes on the TVs in their bedrooms. I get an extra 30 minutes sleep each morning thanks to those little black boxes.

Netflix has TONS for the kids. I like watching Documentaries, and they've got a ton of them.
