Why didn't anyone tell me how fucking easy it is to make money in mainstream?? It's literally 50X easier to make money in mainstream than it is in adult. And I make a pretty good living in adult. I made my first mainstream sale within about 8 hours of registering my domain and building a 5 minute wordpress site.

Wonder why this is? No one gives away free VALUABLE stuff in mainstream. They'll give away free ebooks and shit that are stupid common sense tips, but they keep the valuable stuff under lock and key. Unlike the retards in adult (aka tube sites, TGPs and link lists) that have ruined the entire business. Good luck to everyone in your future endeavors....you're gonna need it. :1orglaugh

Don't be too hard on JenC. Everyone finds their way into making a little "mainstream" money eventually. Of course, mainstream dwarfs the adult industry by definition so there's something wrong if there isn't any money to made. I remember Rick Schwartz on Ynot always talking about making money in mainstream in 1999, so she's only about 12 years late but still plenty of opportunity.

Mainstream domain sales over the past month - over 100 domains, nice healthy $xx,xxx profit. Adult domain sales over the past month - 0. A silly thing like Epassporte mallicking everyone and what little foundation adult had left is cracked. Meanwhile I get new SEOs/developers/domainers/end users buying mainstream domains every week.

It is as crooked as th porn industry, you probably just don't know it. Direct download sites, Megaupload, Megavideo, Rapidshare, and sites that orbit around those, making profits (easy and good) on copyrighted content (TV Shows, Movies, music). Sure there is money in mainstream, but thinking it is not as fucked up as the adult industry, you probably don't realise how fucked up it is :winkwink:

Most likely I will just let my adult sites be little soldiers and sell for me, but I won't continue to update them. I'll focus my work on my mainstream sites where the money is.

I've tried several different things with mainstream over the last decade. Including a very nice online clothing store back in 2000 to 2004.

None of 'em ever made anything close to what I make in adult. I've often heard people say that they do great in mainstream...but I'll be damned if I can figure out how. :(

Just one of those things I guess. I can make 7 figures in adult. Can't make 4 figures in mainstream. Go figure. :disgust
