Not a fan of FOX news but I really like this John Stossel guy
I liked him over at ABC but like him more at Fox.
|
Me too. Read one of his books as well. Really enjoy his message although it mostly gets me enraged over what happens in real life versus what should be happening.
|
I can not stand Fox News, but Stossel is great.
|
|
Stossel tells it like it is...like him better than Geraldo

WAIT - did you just equate Libertarian and "Liberal" And you actually JUST ADMITTED watching FOX FAKE NEWS??? Your Mind-Programming is now complete Vendzilla - they may activate you at any time. |
John Stossel is a true Libertarian, unlike Glenn Beck and Bill O'Reilly.

I dont think every person who refuses to watch Fox would believe that, but your not helping to prove otherwise. |
Quote:
OK yes I'm not going to take the time to prove something that EVERYONE KNOWS - I tune into that joke of a fake fucking "News" Channel enough to know that there is ZERO balance - it is 100 percent PURE Republican Propaganda - the only "Liberals" they have are mousy quiet imbeciles like Alan Colmes - OH and they DROPPED him... FAUX news is the fucking laughing stock of the news world and EVERYONE knows it. |

I enjoy John Stossel. It is hard to argue with his reasoning.

Libertarian is nothing to do with liberal views you half baked idiot and no I didn't equate them as such, maybe if you weren't so spoon feed from MSNBC you would see that. And the only reason some may think that he is slanted right is he sees the FUCK UPS the liberal people are doing! |
hahahahah!!
"He is a libertarian, which always puts a different point of view on things than others. Thats why I like watching Fox, they have a lot of liberal contributers" |
Quote:
I cant disagree that there are a lot of shows on Fox that are blatantly biased, and I dont watch those either. It's even more annoying when I see a bunch of people on Fox hopping on the "Libertarian" band wagon one week, and railing against things like gay marraige the next. Your not proving a point by pointing out Fox's conservative bias while blatantly ignoring other media's liberal bias. |

Forget about the Libertarian part - this is one of the most ridiculous things I have EVER seen posted on GFY:
"Thats why I like watching Fox, they have a lot of liberal contributers" |
Quote:
He structured that statement completely wrong. He was trying to point out that Fox has both conservative and liberal contributers, and thats why he likes to watch it. Because of the multiple viewpoints. Not solely because of the liberal contributers. Edit: Or I could be misunderstanding him completely too, you could describe Libertarians loosely as "fiscally conservative, socially liberal". They are pro-choice, pro-gay marraige. Conservatives usually cringe at the thought of those two. But they are also fiscally conservative, they wont spend taxpayer money on welfare or entitlement programs. Something liberals think is a cold and inhumane policy. But for that, I wouldnt call a Libertarian liberal. |

I UNDERSTAND THAT - It's absolutely UNTRUE There are ZERO balanced viewpoints on FAUX - its 100 percent PURE FEAR AND SMEAR... It's DAMAGING this country... FUK FOX! |
VENDZILLA - Heres a suggestion - start a thread asking people if they agree with you that FOX is a real news channel...with "Fair and Balanced" viewpoints... Or start a poll...your beloved station will be destroyed.

And the grammar police once again foil the happy pursuits of common banter, sitting in a corner with his mighty keyboard, SlutBoat stands steady, proud, all knowing, ready to pounce on the first conservative that misspells a 4 syllable word or grammatically in-completes a sentence while uploading a video or editing text on a piece of PHP. This is the mission of the mighty and all knowing SlutBoat, raised by teacher of fine cheese making and still believing that GM paid back there bail out money, has a picture of Obama in his wallet, where SlutBoat used a Sharpie to write "From Barry with Love"
I really shouldn't write stuff when I get high, but it sounds funny when you use an announcer voice |

But the fact is, neither is 100 percent [left/right] propaganda. There are multiple viewpoints and good arguments made for both sides on both news channels. Where your getting bent out of shape is that they do primarily swing to the right. I havent watched a lot of MSNBC, but I have peeked in at 5:00 PM to see the difference, and what I saw was the equivilant to a democratic Hannity. The only people I like on Fox are Beck and Stossel. I have a few issues with Beck but I agree with everything Ive heard from Stossel. Have you watched these two? Or have you only seen the other guys? And while were at it, who should I look for on MSNBC if I want to get multiple and fair viewpoints for both conservative and liberals? Edit: One more thing, no news station can damage the country. Its up to the people themselves to decide for themselves what is right and wrong. |

September 23, 2010 Total Viewers: (Live +SD) * Total day: FNC: 1.342 | MSNBC: 428 | CNN: 412 | HLN: 275 * Primetime: FNC: 2.285 | MSNBC: 886 | CNN: 633 | HLN: 444 Let me guess, The liberals dont get metered or have diaries... Thats why FOX has over twice the viewers, in all day parts than your beloved MSNBC has or will ever have. And Rachel Maddow is not going to fuck you.. Or blow you... Now go back to working the fries machine... |

That was great.. and so true. |
The liberal contributors are on fox news so they can be yelled at, berated and lose the argument. Giving idiots the impression that Fox is fair and balanced because both sides of the argument is shown.
|
When I was a kid I enjoyed watching him because of his devil's advocate style.
But he has since become a total fraud and it has nothing to do with being on Fox or any political slant. Do a search for John Stossel and you'll find he made several reports in which he claimed to have performed polls or tests and he never really did. He just made up the numbers. He also claimed to have sent certain materials to a lab for testing, which he never did. He didn't just fudge the numbers, or use questionable sources, he flat out made stuff up. He publicly admitted that all the allegations were true and apologized. To me, if you do that even once as a journalist, you have lost all credibility. The guy is a fraud. |

I have a confession to make: I do not watch Fox News.... there I said it. I have watched Fox news in the past, I was a regular viewer as a matter of fact until the invasion of Iraq. It was at that point that I began changing the way I viewed the world and politics. I still watched Fox News after that of course, but much less
then came the Patriot Act and within a few months I had gone from what I labeled myself a 'Moderate Republican' to what I now consider myself to me a 'Moderate Democrat'. Although I think I may have slipped into the realm of full on socialist nut job by anyone who considers themselves a 'conservative', 'fiscal conservative' and most definitely by anyone who considers themselves a member of or sympathetic to the Tea Party... I HAVE watched Fox News in bits and pieces, as much as I can stomach in recent months, but only for a few laughs. Unfortunately the laughs turn sour quicker and quicker. My son recently told me a saying one of his teachers told him when he was in grade school (he is now in college) it was this: If you are a republican you can't have a heart, if your a democrat you can't have a brain. I will add to that: if you're style of debate is name calling and hurling insults, then you can't have an intellect. Of course that will only bother the democrats amongst us since having an intellect has been widely held by the right as being Elitist and bad mmmmmmmkay :winkwink::thumbsup |

One of the most important things to me is individual sovereignty, the things you talked about that swayed you from the republican side are also things that bothered me and actually pushed me further to the right. (Absolute right would be anarchy, absolute left would be totalitarianism) I beleive the government should enforce individual rights, and as far as law enforcement goes, anything that someone else does that violates anothers rights is what should be considered illegal and enforced. (What you do in the privacy of your own home does not concern me, get high if you want, just dont go out for a joyride after) I also think that most things people consider the governments job could be run better by private individuals and business. |
