Beware of aff

As a loyal webmaster 8 years you would think they would take care of you through thick and thin. We all know times have been tough in the industry but we all stay and try to push along. they had me on a special payout and removed me from it with out no notice or talk about how I could stay on it. This included taking all my rebills prior to 2004 which is what they say reducing my pay cut from 4k to about 1k a month. This hurt me and my family so bad and they just don't give a shit. Sean the marketing guy wouldn't even respond to me over icq or phone. I made close to a million with them, which is pretty good I think in my book. What a way to fuck a webmaster over. I mean I guess I understand dropping % payout but to just take the recurring members I worked so hard on sending them away just like that? Bad business or am I somehow wrong?

TeenCat 09-21-2010 08:34 AM

Every time I start to think I should give them a try, they do something to fuck over affiliates. Fuck them.

DWB 09-21-2010 08:51 AM

Don't any of you research a company before you promote them? I'm shocked at the amount of webmasters who promote shitty companies, companies who don't pay, or criminal organizations.

The Demon 09-21-2010 08:53 AM

Weird, getiton banks and Sagi is one hell of a rep.

TheMan 09-21-2010 08:55 AM

They were always good to me though... Had a great rep and 8 years no problems. Sad they turned into a fuck everybody company.

Welcome to my world... I am curious as to the story you got. I got we aren't paying you unless you send 5 new members a day and we aren't paying you for reorders, there was something about 2004 in there but not exactly the same thing you got...

Quagmire 09-21-2010 09:04 AM

sue them?

I thought it was only the special payout percentage that was dropped, are you sure for the recurring members pre-2004?

TheMan 09-21-2010 09:19 AM

Well 100% sure thats what they are saying...
My stats show me making shit now. before they "fixed" the stats I was showing $200 t0 $350 days making me like 12 bucks.

Did they give you a reason why they took away the rebills?

erooup 09-21-2010 09:28 AM

They still advertise on ThePirateBay, so I dont understand why anyone would send them any traffic, when they are supporting illegal file sharing.

No, you only care because now they've turned into a fuck YOU company...They've been fucking folks for years and you kept on pushing em...I have no problem with you feeding your family however you can, however, now shit has hit the fan for YOU, the sympathy well has run dry....

Suck it up and deal with it.

Zuzana Designs 09-21-2010 09:30 AM

That's a major pay cut sorry to hear about that. Sucks to see this happening in this bizz. People work hard for their money and sponsors should honored deals made in the past, or at least let you know why they are dropping the payouts.

My understanding was just reorders(rebills are different) were being dropped and you are only getting the special payout if you sent 5 new members a day, at least that what I take from the gibberish emails I got from them yesterday

Name one dating sponsor who refused to have their ads displayed on a torrent site? fuck it, name any adult sponsor who contacted the piratebay to have their ads removed. I'll be waiting.

AFF aren't on thepiratebay because they are worst than others, they are the piratebay because they convert better than others.

Like him, I have been seeing people whine about how terrible AFF is blah blah blah. I've watched Will have a meltdown. I laughed all the way to the bank. While "everyone" was "getting fucked" by AFF, some of us were doing quite well.

It's pretty easy to take all of the drama with a grain of salt when you and everyone you personally know are doing great with a sponsor.

u-Bob 09-21-2010 09:50 AM

remember zango?

Vick! 09-21-2010 09:51 AM

Always promote PPS, get higher payout deals if you have volume. You can kick their ass anytime if you want to.

Hope it get sorted for you.

Just telling MY side of the story.

The suck it up and deal with it part was just plain stupid.

Maybe if I posted several threads about this and just kept posting about this daily for months to come I would understand your comment.

Is it really wrong that I told MY story?

I would call your view of AFF either naive, ignorant or delusional at best. Unlike any other dating network, AFF have OPENLY admitted they like the Piracy traffic (Just like they did wth Zango).

Go back and read the old LegendaryLars topics, if you want documentation for my claim.

I don't need to go back, I know what happened with zango. They were clearly in the wrong.

You didn't answer my question though, name one adult sponsor who asked do have their ads removed from ThePirateBay.

How should I know if a datingsite have requested to have their ads removed? its not like they CC me on the emails. But it dont matter - what matters is WHAT dating site DO have their banners on filesharing sites. And nobody send more $$ to content thiefs than AFF.

EVERY single dating site has ads up there.

If others send less $$, it isn't ethics, it's only because they don't convert as well.

Be a model affiliate, take the moral high ground, lets see how well you do if you promote no dating sites (torrents), no x-sellers (they - not dating sites - made the tubes profitable), no cam sites (torrents + tubes), no fleshlight (torrents), etc...

Simply not true.

The fact that you draw parallels between Dating-programs supporting content-theft, and programs with legal x-sellers, only make me question your grasp of the situation/reality even more.

Belive whatever you want, but stick to the truth and claims you can prove.

And you are calling me naive

When CC banging was in full flow programs with "legal x-sells" rebilling at 3x$49.99 were buying all available ad spots on tubes at rates that would make dating sites weep. If that isn't supporting content theft I don't know what is.

It is funny you are here saying that, when you were praising island dollars when there was obviously some kind of issues.

beerptrol 09-21-2010 11:58 AM

No one is above being fucked in this industry. Sure companies may start with the small affiliates first, but eventually they make their way to you.

Again - nobody pays more to content thiefs than AFF. Spin it all you want, it dont change the current state of affairs.

No, it was Incredible Dollars, and I ditched them and DMCA'd the site they had my content on as soon as my contract was up. I never (until recently) told affiliates to promote or not promote them. The issue was always with their cross sales.

I don't promote AFF. Never have. As an affiliate I never promoted Incredible Dollars either.
