Nowadays having a baby at 40 is not a big deal. However, you seem unstable and I don't think you should have a child at all. After seeing your ridiculous posts in the thread about a member's pet dying it seems you may need help. :thumbsup

Definitely not something I'd consider, because you just put the child at risk for so many things as a result. We were in the diaper store the other day and there was a women who looked to be close to 50 chasing around her 5 year old daughter...who had down's syndrome.

I think that most people having kids at that age aren't doing it with the child's best interests in mind. If they did, they wouldn't be having or even considering it...because of all the possible complications.

very sad. Having a child is a decision you should make much earlier in life. After 40 the risks are too high (especially for a first child)

40 is not to old to have a baby, are you guys all doctors now too?

No reason at all why a healthy 40 yr old woman can't have a baby. 50 is a different story, but 40 is fuck all.

Sorry, but I have to disagree with you on this.

My Wife and I have been trying for 4 years. We have gone through several rounds of IVF, and have talked to MANY doctors about this. In addition, my wife is a pediatric OT with her own practice.

In fact, getting pregnant with your first child after 40 is not only quite difficult, but also the chances of problems during pregnancy, downs syndrome, etc.... are MUCH MUCH higher after the age of 35. Just because medical science has advanced so much in the last 40 to 50 years has not changed biology.
