i forgot it was today the preorder or else i would have woken up earlier

Around 6 a.m. ET, however, the iPhone 4 page on Apple's U.S. online store was returning an "Oops! An error occurred" message. Minutes later, the entire store went down. It was back up around 8 a.m. ET and a Computerworld,/i> editor successfully ordered one of the iPhones (in black). But by 8:15 a.m. ET, the store was again down, displaying a "We'll be back soon" message.

i switched to the google nexus one...will NEVER go back to an apple product again. (although i think the internet's faster on iphone).

I'm only a year into my 2 year at&t contract with my current 3gs phone,

What will I be paying to preorder this? Will they kickout my contract further or treat me as a full price customer?

They're letting some people upgrade early, login to your account on att.com and try to upgrade. It will tell you whether you can upgrade early or if you have to pay a fee.

if your not able to upgrade on the apple site, its because of AT&T and NOT apple.

their system is pinging AT&T to make sure you are able to upgrade and since they have the same technology since 1987 their entire system is down :1orglaugh

Try using AT&T's site, I preordered mine not long ago from there and everything went through perfectly :P

I heard you can't preorder it from the store. I was able to preorder mine fine through att.com, it was a bit slow but it went through.

the stores cant pre-order, even the apple stores. you have to do it online

I got into a mess with this before. i ordered the 3G (2nd gen iphone) this way and they didn't have any to ship. took about 3 weeks past the release date for me to finally get one.

im kinda hesitant to do that option again

Yeah I took that into account. With all the preorders being placed there is a possibility of them not having any in stock to ship. However, they only pre-authorized my card and won't actually charge it until it ships out. My current phone works fine, if there is a delay, then there is a delay. It's okay. :2 cents:
