Excellent poll. My dilemma: When do I or should I even tell someone who I'm dating what I really do? I had 1 guy freak out ("you can't meet my family"), 1 guy stated that women working in porn = sluts. Current boyfriend told me I need to get out of adult if I want to be with him and that I should go back to straight work (doesn't pay the bills, I tried) or promote poker affiliate programs instead. He's getting 'nexted'.

Everybody does, it's no secret. It's not my only income source though so it's not my "exclusive title".

I tell pretty much everybody (without being specific about our domain names/how to find/see us) but at this point I wish I'd maybe been more selective about telling and lied more. So far it hasn't caused any real problems, though.

immediate family - everybody. rest of family - some. close friends - yes. not so close friends - probably most know but not from me.

being in porn sucks - nobody gives u credit for any success - because it's porn. and i'd probably be the same, if i found out a friend was doing well financially but it was from porn i know i'd probably say 'meh - it's porn, how hard can it be?' one of my high school friends made millions with direct mail marketing, offline spam - i never gave him the same credit i gave others who made successes with more respectable endeavours.

Tell them straight up before you even really get to know them and then hang out with them as friends for a bit before dating so you can feel them out on where they stand with it.

You're going to meet guys who are going to want you to get out of it and guys who are going to want to "save you" from the industry, also you'll find scumbags who are turned on by it and think because you're in adult they can try to do something wacky like try and fuck you in the ear or some shit :1orglaugh

But yeah, that's how I handle it. There are guys out there who will understand what you do is just a job like anything else.

All my friends in germany and my family knows about. Mostly they are cool with my job. Those who dont like me any more about my job, i really dont need in my life.

Super suggestion to date in the biz! But I live in a very small town. And nowhere near SoFlo. Maybe there are guys who work in the biz in my area, clandestine like me, this isn't Porn Valley unfortunately. I lurked for a while, reading the Forum before reg'ing, def. need to network w/ ppl, I stare at my computer screen 8 - 12 or more hours a day. Working for myself beats a corporate job w/ same old dollar amt paycheck.

most of my friends know. It's not like I go around telling everyone, but when people ask, I tell them it's part of my business.

My gf's parents dont know, neither my daughters of course [and friends and relatives of this age], but everyone else does. I am not very proud of it, but as I dont do nothing illegal and give legal job to ppl nobody has issues with this.
