I was looking at cashrate before I bought cashupload.com and if i had bought cashrate i would have been charged 58k

Ethersync 05-25-2010 02:10 PM

Did you call GoDaddy? They used to have a 5 day refund policy.

tranza 05-25-2010 02:14 PM

I think it was removed about a year ago when ICANN changed the rules.

ErectMedia 05-25-2010 02:31 PM

actually not a bad name but it depends if you had a business plan behind it, if you were just buying it to park then yeah I would be pissed if I missed the premium price on it, guess we should list our domains for sale there if it's that easy to miss, if you wanna spend another 1700 today hit me up got a nice 6 letter brandable cash domain :1orglaugh, good luck getting your refund they can probably fix it. :thumbsup

It's not that easy. You have to be a real desperate idiot. They tried to hit me with it thousands of times, and I never bit even when the domain should have been legitimately mine!

Errrrr....so you're saying you went through the whole shopping cart part where it shows you the cost and clicked to proceed anyways? That be one lucky seller, damn. I have to admit I've never heard of anyone doing that until now...not on GD at least. I've had an buyer back out on Sedo saying he thought the price was $2,000 instead of $20,000 when he bought a 2-letter .net from me. Sedo did absolutely nothing about it, the bastards. :(

And yea, unfortunately I don't think you're going to find any buyers anywhere near that much. Sorry.

If you're looking for more domains, most of mine for sale are less than what you paid for that. Hit me up if you like and lmk what you're looking for and I'll show you what I've got. :thumbsup

I normally use NameSecure.com, but I recently had to set up a GoDaddy account to transfer a name that was already registered through GoDaddy.

Soon thereafter I needed to renew the name, so I thought - okay, no problem!

I logged into GoDaddy, and holy shit - they fucking try to upsell you 1000 ways from fucking Sunday! All I wanted to do was renew the stupid name, and it took forever, trying to avoid one upsell after the other! What an annoying process!

I finally finished, and thought it was over, but then I got A PHONE CALL FROM THEM, asking if I would like more services!

Talk about a pushy company! I will never register a name through them again!

benn626 05-25-2010 02:54 PM

I don't buy alot of domains and when i do i usualy use namecheap.. I had bought a couple earlier today form godaddy that were the basic 11$, so when i put this one in and saw it was available I didnt notice the premium part at all. and as for the checkout I was just trying to skip all the bs that gd tries to offer you.. they are fixing it (i think) so no worries.

So you did not read what it said and that's a godaddy fault?

Sly 05-25-2010 02:57 PM

Don't feel bad. I have around 900 domains and I've done the same thing. I bought a $600 domain once on accident. Last week I bought a $30 domain once on accident.

Both of them I was able to get removed because I have VIP status, my rep told me that they are trying to get that eliminated because of so many complaints. Obviously you and I are not the only idiots.

greg80 05-25-2010 02:58 PM

ask for refund, they will probably do it

I made a typo registering a domain few months back and they refunded.

How can you spend $1750 by mistake? That's incredible :)

No, it's actually pretty tricky. When you search for a domain that is already registered GD presents it as if it is available, but really it's just a back order.

Go try registering a domain that you know is already registered. Pay attention and you will see where one could make the mistake of ordering a domain they did not mean to.

LeRoy 05-25-2010 03:00 PM

Charge back time!

Adraco 05-25-2010 03:01 PM

Godaddy will cancel orders for you if you just get to them fast enough. They are aware that mistakes do happen. Just keep a friendly tone and they will help you out.

MaDalton 05-25-2010 03:09 PM

i don't know, but i usually read the total at the bottom of the cart before i hit submit...

Cyber Fucker 05-25-2010 03:37 PM

Next time don't buy domains while drunk. There was written very clearly that it's $1700 and it was written not only on one page... you had to see it when checking out too. I've never bought any domain by mistake.

baddog 05-25-2010 03:39 PM

And this is Godaddy's fault, why?

Yea but that's a backorder, which I think normally there costs $17. Add 2 0's and that's what the OP did. He bought something from within the premium domains area, which is entirely different and as far as I recall, it even lists the price next to the domain in that case.

Anyways, good luck to the OP...GoDaddy might be understanding and refund you. They don't pay the sellers out immediately from those sales...I sold one for $2,500 through them and they paid out about 3 weeks later, so you may be able to get a refund still.

VikingMan 05-25-2010 04:16 PM

cashupload.com is actually kind of a cool domain

Because they make it really easy for shit like this to happen... so easy that it seems they're doing it on purpose and hoping for many fuckups that wont get noticed.

BIGTYMER 05-25-2010 04:31 PM

Its a nice domain.

Its not easy !...firstly you see your shopping cart total with remove next to all items that you may have accidently added......then just to make double sure the total is on the next page as well.

im amazed how anyone could get billed any amount over what they intended to pay.

You must use some very good drugs.

BlackCrayon 05-25-2010 04:59 PM

pay attention to the total when checking out...

Fuck godaddy because you're retarded? Now that is interesting.

Can I offer you something for 10 bucks?

LoveSandra 05-25-2010 06:38 PM

sorry to hear.Call them for a refund.

Vjo 05-25-2010 08:05 PM

There should be bells going off to warn you of anything other than default price. Maybe there is. And you just fucked up. Sounds like a nice little mousetrap that prob hooks .1 to 1% or such.

Their whole interface smells of upsells, mousetraps, general shiftyness and overall major league lameness.
