What's Your Biggest Challenge in 2010? Here's Mine...
My biggest challenge in 2010 is a simple one word answer MOTIVATION.
My second biggest would be FOCUS. I've talked to a few owners who have been around for the past 7 to 10 years. A lot of the guys I've talked to seem to be suffering from the same thing. I've made more money than I ever dreamed of. In the first few years I was in the business I set goals for myself. I worked my ass off (12 to 18 hours a day) and blew every single one of my goals out of the water. Now I'm having trouble finding goals that motivate me. I've known this for some time but it really hit me today. I was at a meeting with a mainstream start up that is looking to raise capital. It was two young guys that have built a really impressive product. They've already been approached by a number of big mainstream players to be acquired. It was really neat sitting there and looking at myself 10 years ago. The nervousness they had in their business setup, the confidence they had in their product, the confidence they had in their ability to continue to build the product into a market leader. These guys were fired up and they will be pulling all nighters for the next 6 months to make it big. And they will make it big. I left the meeting thinking 'how do i get myself fired up like I once was?' What's your biggest challenge? (besides TUBES and Free Porn) |
Tubes and Free Porn. :1orglaugh

breaking 80 :)
focus for sure and drive, we have a mainstream product we are putting the finishing touches on, and sometimes i find myself playing video games instead of working, or golfing etc...need to focus anyway, certainly renewed drive and focus would be great for business |
I want to be able to take a shit without bleeding out of my asshole.

Feels like I'm going nuts... I keep asking myself, wtf is wrong here? Still don't have the answer. If you get the answer, let me know. |
I golf on Fridays, which tends to drive the rest of my week toward the fun at the end. That way I stay motivated while keeping perspective on my work.
Having already broken 80, my goal is to break 75 by the end of the year. |
if you don't have it inside your gut now you probably won't get it back unless you find something you want to do that compels you to go balls to the walls to see it become a reality. guys like Donald Trump are almost sick, obsessed, it's in their DNA. Lots of people once they have reached their financial goal lose their motivation, happens a lot to pro athletes who sign big contracts. It's being talked about today that Lebron James doesn't have the obsessive competitive drive of Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, winning means something to him but with Jordan it meant everything.

Ya I have that same problem.

Out of all the sites I have.. I got yet another one up about 2 months ago and I did not expect it to become so popular so quickly. Because I am used to slogging it out to get traffic to my sites so I was kinda suprised to see the big jump in traffic on this new site so quickly,
And most of the traffic was from other well known sites who just linked my site up. This is not an affilliate site btw. It has purchased content on it, so now my goal/challange is to make it bigger and better in every way I dam well I can over th next year. I started this site just to try something out and never dreamed it would be where it is now 2 months down the line. So thats my challenge for this year and im dreading it cause I dont want to fuck it up |

I have many physical and mental challenges I have to overcome. Within a fit healthy body is a strong mind.

Are you suggesting that mind & body are as one, grasshopper? |
My solution was to look within myself to see what I truly wanted, liked, and enjoyed... not caring what anyone else would think or care. Then I started doing those things. Now I'm motivated because of this, I set goals to improve myself. Which created more drive to better myself at work, staff, management, life, etc..
Success is only a perception of self satisfaction. The only way to please the self, is to accept what the self truly desires. |
Same thing, motivation. If I was making the money I used to be, I'd be highly motivated, but its dropped quite a bit and similiarly, my motivation has too.

Motivation is a funny thing... If you're already banking, you'll naturally have less motivation. It's called complacency ;)
My biggest challenge this year will be staying focused to deliver a network of sites I've been working on for over a year... 150d 6h 7m 15s till launch... must stay focused... :P |
I am a pure adult affiliate marketer. I have two things going for me...
1.) I don't stop until a figure out the problem. 2.) I have incredible endurance and stamina to be in front of a computer. I love the buzz of my computers, I love my office, I love porn... My challenge is figuring out bigger problems and constantly hacking away. |
My biggest challenge in 2010 will be figuring out ways to diversify my business so that I'm not relying so much on the adult industry for income revenue. It's been a fun ride but sometimes I long for something more :thumbsup
By the way....LOVE the positive energy that I've seen from you lately Shap :thumbsup |

I have no real creative drive, and it's hard for me to work on something without seeing almost instant results... I am stuck in a rut of just doing the same things over and over because I know they work.
|
Procrastination. From 1980-2010. =)
|
Deciding on what path I want to take, it's always my hardest thing.
|
Finding a way to make enough money from something I enjoy doing.
|
Biggest problem... Starting over in a business I let die. Second biggest problem. Continued grow in another sector unrelated to adult.
|
i want to sleep.I pay for that
|
lately it has being motivation & focus.. i am feeling burnt out but havent stopped.. so im guessing thats why.
|
my challenge is to make money so i will not work with twistys :)

Shap, come down to Australia with the family! Would love to brain storm with you on a few things and show you all around :)
|
Paying my bills, feeding my kids, making sure my wife is comfortable, my son's college tuition. That's all the motivation that I need.
|
Yeah that too. I bought 4 Italian Ice push carts, launching that biz this summer. Gotta diversify if you are in adult now. :2 cents:

This is a time in your life where having kids is a great thing.
You now need to focus on your legacy. You have built something great for the here and now, but what are you going to do for your kids? Their kids? While you most likely already have college covered for them and they will probably inherit considerable cash, what else can you leave them to inherit? If that isn't enough motivation; or they're too young to think that far ahead about, then its time to think about what you told yourself you wanted to be when you were 10. If it was a police man and you're obviously not going to become one today, maybe do something for charity that benefits them. Another route is now that you've taken care of yourself, maybe now is the time to start thinking about others that need a break in life. Like Bill Gates and some of the other billionaires are doing. |

Oh shit, there was a question...
My biggest goal/challenge this year is to build a buffer so that when little income shocks come up I do not feel them. One problem I have now is that I have to take on a lot of gigs that pay one-time to make ends meet rather than being able to invest more time in myself for the long-term. The tide is slowly shifting but sometimes I take one step forward and then two steps back (cue Paula Abdul). |
the last couple years have been all about improving communication within our organization. we are always looking to add tools to the old toolbox...
