hi guys how much pocket money you used to get per month in your childhood and now how much u give to your kids?

I used to get around on 20 bucks per month when I was about 13 - 15.
I don't have kids.

why does every thread you make try to social engineer who has money on here?

I wasn't allowed money as a kid, if my grandma gave me $20 for something my parents would take it and deposit it into a "savings account" I never saw.

I give my 5 year old 6/700 dollars a month to play with.

I don't have kid's but when I was like 12-13 or so I'd say I got ~$20 a week.

Got around 100 euros a month as a kid. And my kids? Well the first one is still in my tummy atm :P I'll think about it!

I didn't _get_ any money, ever. Any money I got was for doing chores in ADDITION to my regular chores... Maybe $20 for a day's work (Sat/Sun)?

Even at 5, my parents owned an educational toy store (ahead of it's time and went bankrupt but)... I would get paid for making sure all the hands-on toys were put back when people didn't put them back. I was paid in educational toys, hahahah Took a long while just to earn one :P

i had to work for any money i got as a kid. recycling batteries, sewing bootleg clothes, all kinds of shit.

My parents paid me in life lessons from the old country. I pay my kids in buttons.

I'm so old we did not have money when I was a kid. As for my 8 year old she's saving for a Game boy so I give her nothing.

I was never "given" allowance. Birthdays and Christmas I would always save money so that it would last throughout the year. Started doing freelance work when I was around 14 to make some money.

Damn, I was one spoiled kid...

After Uncle Charlie's "Special Secret Sleepovers" I got a crisp new $20 to spend on whatever I wanted.

Usually I just used them to mop up the tears.

I didnt accept my moms allowance. She was single and I felt guilty.

When I was 10..I got a job at the local dry cleaners. For 20.00 a month I wiped all their machines down every other week. I kept that job till High School :)

I got like $10 or $20 a month as a kid. When I have kids, then won't get any allowance at all. They are lucky enough to come from my prestigious testicles.

I started at $5/week for allowance and was bumped up to $15/week eventually. I don't have kids at the moment.

I worked in my fathers shops from the age of 13 onwards, earning about £40 a weekend at about 14.
I dont give pocket money to my children as a set figure, anytime they want something, they ask, they get but they earn it. Maybe something simple like hoovering there room or maybe running to the shops for us.
I love just buying small gifts for my boys. I do not like spoilt children, they turn into spiteful people that have no consideration for others.

Cool thread. I never had it defined down to the $, probably will go on judgement for my own kids.

I mowed lawns, washed cars you name it. I think my going rate for a lawn was around 5 bucks and car washes was around 3 bucks.

No idea what they give kids nowadays, I see 16 year old kids driving brand new BMW's.
When I was 16 I had a pinto.

That would have been a lot of lawns.
