There is a universal reason, lack of future updates.

The biggest operators see this on the horizon and are all trying to jump ship/sell while traffic is high.

Why are there going to be fewer updates in the future? Because very few companies are shooting new content anymore. That means there will be little for the tubes to poach.

yes it sucks. also last few years no new music and no new movies were released

IF this were the case it does not really matter. A lot of the big ones just recycle content. They use older movies to fill space up on daily updates.

For those that say there is lack of money being made - a 30 day 300x250 ad on youporn is selling for 35000 euros.

So if they get 1/1000 which is pretty good for untargetted traffic, they would be looking at spending 1000 euros a day to get 10 sales or 300-1000 euros a day. Not many sponsors could keep that up very long under most circumstances. I think I am being too generous on the numbers too.

If you're going to have nearly 140 million people glancing at your ad, it's probably more about the branding then clicks/conversions.

I also noticed that most of the tube videos are still SD (4:3), newer HD videos (16:9) are rarely posted, while most of the freshly produced stuff is 16:9.

But I think there's still enough of old videos to keep updates rolling in for years, even if they keep updating at current average rate of 20-100 videos/day as most major tube sites do.

If it's an ad with a ripped dude, 20 clicks is probably right. Those ads are a major turn off when you're busting a nut to straight videos.
