i also find things such as the charlie sheen video alex jones produced to be more sensationalizing than documenting.

Are you serious? He has built his empire off propaganda, dissent and fear mongering, typically catering to the lowest denominator in society. Many if not most of his "news" doesn't just stop there, he injects his own wild opinions and theories as facts and often times goes way outside the boundaries of logic or reasoning.
Just look at his site with all his cash generating ads. On the front page I counted at least 25, not to mention his donation button.
On a side note. He isn't interested in the truth or enlightening people. If you have followed him over the years he always seems to be on the flip side of every administration. The usual suspect deniers always come out to play. Watch the movie do your own research. It's free and it's the facts. Quit using the excuse he's trying to make money off of you. Sometimes when Alex Jones is going off I cringe too. I don't go along with everything he says, but I do find some of the news he shares interesting. His documentaries are good because he's not live and ranting and raving like he's known to sometimes do. What he does do is ask you to do your own research. He's not asking you to believe in what he says blindly.Comment

As far as the other. I find it pretty amusing that anyone can blame the guy for trying to make money and pay for his operation especially after the big commotion that went on around here recently. I'm sure he would love to have a few hundred thousand to throw around on making informative movies to give away free all day long. That is an easy question to answer. I used to check him out from time to time and was completely turned off by his theatrics, sensationalism, irrational rants and ravings, loosing his composure and at times losing touch with reason and logic.
Someone above posted a perfect example of it. I don't need my information presented to me by someone who by all accounts seems to be a madman.
Everything he talks about I have seen through other sources. I find him repulsive so yes... I am one of those people he has turned away or alienated.

In this day and age that will never happen. People are to lazy and can't be bothered when they have their reality TV programs to watch or the Starbucks non-fat latte to drink or their newest video game to play or their social networking site to camp out on.
Especially not since 9/11 and the new all encompassing use of the word "terrorist" in junction with the Patriot Act. The only thing an uprising or a revolution like that will produce is a tighter grip and an erasure of rights of US citizens by the Government and it's military.

That's the point of the movie. To wake people up from their sleep before it does get to that point. If they are allowed to continue it will be worse than that. Great Depression and WWII combined plus some.
