FACT: Organic Foods are Bullshit!

- If all food was farmed organically, the Earth could support in the best case around 4 Billion people. The current earth population is nearing 7 Billion people. Which 3 Billion should we let starve to death? Maybe the hippy organic fucks.

- Most organic food found in super markets comes from corporate giants, not local farmers. Somewhere around 20% of organic food being sold in the USA is imported from China. There's no requirement to mark origin of the food. If you really want to support local farmers, go to a farmers market shithead.

- In blind taste testing organic foods have never demostarted measurably better taste. Some studies actually show quite the opposite. It tastes better in your mind because you're fucking retarded.

- No evidence of any sort exists to suggest organic food is more nutrious than non-organic foods. Scientifically, it's not an issue at all. It's just plain and simple bullshit.

- No crops are grown pesticide free. All organic farmers use pesticides. The difference is instead of using the latest and greatest pesticides designed specifically to be less toxic, organic farmers use harsher "natural" pesticides in huge ammounts. Your exposure to pesticides is significantly higher with organic foods.

You're paying more money, for no increased value and still making corporations rich. Good job, Assholes.

MetaMan 08-10-2009 10:42 AM

HAHA what is funny i was about to make a post about this last week.

but you explained it much better mine would have more been on the lines of "organic food is for faggots and hippies"

d-null 08-10-2009 10:42 AM

disagree with that, try a taste test yourself, get someone to help you do a blind taste test, try it on tomatos, try it on carrots, you'd be surprised

the organic vegetables taste way better

Actually, the majority of the worlds population goes to bed hungry every night, so they are already starving.

People are going to starve anyway, no matter what you do to try to save them, it's the nature of the beast.

I don't know why this simple math eludes you.

Currently the Earth's population is near 7 Billion. At the absolute best Organic farming could support 4 Billion. That means if I can magically wave a wand and change all farming to organic, non modified crops. 3 Billion people would starve to death. It's simple really.

BestXXXPorn 08-10-2009 10:51 AM

Like any type of food it all depends on the source... Why buy store bought "organic"? Go down to the local farm and buy some veggies or a farmer's market or whatever. And free range eggs are definitely WAY better for you, for good reason though, the chickens get to feed off of bugs and they get a lot more exercise. Here's some stats:

• 1/3 less cholesterol
• 1/4 less saturated fat
• 2/3 more vitamin A
• 2 times more omega-3 fatty acids
• 3 times more vitamin E
• 7 times more beta carotene

Once again it depends on the source... local farms are probably your best bet. If you've got some land yourself, pick up 4 chicks for $20. They cost about $0.10 a day in feed (for all four) if they're free range and will plop out about two dozen eggs per week! Plus they're fantastic for bug control :)

Martin 08-10-2009 10:51 AM

I watched that show a couple weeks ago too. Asking people to compare organically grown food to non-organic mean while it was just the same non-organic piece of fruit/veggie cut in half. 100% of the sheep asked said the organically grown food tasted way better. Man people are dumb fucking sheep.

is that counting bugs? some peoples eat bugs

beemk 08-10-2009 10:58 AM

the same people that fall for this bullshit and spend 3x the $ on produce they would spend on non organic are the same idiots that think they are being healthy while they dont eat meat but dont get any protein in their diet.

You realize you can get protein from other things besides meat, right?

I get that. I'm saying they are starving already, so don't worry about it.

I really like organic beef, or at the very least free range beef :2 cents:

Tom_PM 08-10-2009 11:03 AM

Grow your own, use all the chemicals you want, or none at all. Problem solved.

Your definition of "organic" seems to be narrow. You can garden hydroponically and still label "organic".

Again though, just grow what you and your family eats, and it's problem solved-ville.

Now that would be some population control. :1orglaugh

quiet 08-10-2009 11:03 AM

i love picking stuff up at our local farmers market, as well as driving out to the farms in Pemberton, BC (lots of great fruit and veggies). other than that, i stay away from faux organic.

scuba steve 08-10-2009 11:04 AM

i just like his commentary on every fact. i wish real news was like that

The Duck 08-10-2009 11:06 AM

I dont even know why anyone would make a stand against organic food. Stupid.

I agree.

A lot of organic shit is balls. Rice? Fuck that shit. But, vegetables are so obviously better tasting.

It makes sense really.

a) carrots that are sprayed with chemicals all their lives
b) carrots that are sprayed with nothing but rain and sun

You'd have to be fairly fucking stupid to think that there would be no difference in taste.

They're "obviously" better tasting because you believe they are. Nothing more.

Whoa back the fuck up.

What makes you think even for a second that "organic" carrots are sprayed with nothing but rain and sun? You're confused.

Tried them both. There's no difference in taste. Also, you're a fucking idiot in general so please just shut up. Thanks.

AdultHardcore 08-10-2009 11:15 AM

There is no benefit to eating organic produce.

beemk 08-10-2009 11:16 AM

the posts from some of the idiots in this thread support the power of marketing to the average consumer.

You can taste a difference between the shit they have in the store and what you can grow on your own. Though, it's the freshness that you taste. How it's grown won't make a difference.

Tom_PM 08-10-2009 11:18 AM

There is no benefit to eating in-organic food.

Your move. lol.

You can prove this how? Some pesticides can be cancer causing. If I can do ANYTHING to reduce my chance of getting cancer, there is a benefit.

Exactly. Of course vine ripened tomatoes fresh from the farm are going to taste a lot better than hot house tomatoes that ripen in the shelves.

Slappin Fish 08-10-2009 11:20 AM

Agree with most of what you say but there is some use for organic.

Most people will buy organic eggs these days, isn't much more resource intensive than battery eggs, definitely a better choice for both us and the hens :2 cents:

Like I said before, "organic" farmers use pesticides too. They use more of it even because the crops are not genetically modified to be resistant and the pesticides they use are much older broad ranging poisons.

d-null 08-10-2009 11:21 AM

pesticides are found inside fruit and vegetables, just washing them off doesn't get rid of it

Just look it up on google.

Many people believe organic foods are grown without pesticides. The reality is, organic farmers user "natural" pesticides instead of synthetic alternatives.

Organic doesn't necessarily make a difference but how it is grown does, soilless tomatoes always taste like shit.

Don't bitch just because you cannot afford good food.

I'll stick to Whole Foods where my vegetables are grown within 80 miles of my home and the wasted food at the store is composted and shipped back to the farmers for fertilizer.

Please dispute me on how Whole Foods operates. I'd love to school you.

is this true?
if so that is very intresting?
Are you sure its not pesticide free? I thought that was the point of "organic"??
