NationalNet to open new Metro Atlanta Data Center

ATLANTA, GA ? NationalNet, an Atlanta based hosting and colocation provider, announced today the construction of a new, world class data center in the Northwest Atlanta suburb of Marietta, Georgia. The new facility will be home to the company?s premiere managed hosting and colocation divisions plus will house the newly formed unmanaged dedicated hosting division.

The five year old building, formerly a high security processing and data center facility for one of the largest banks in the Southeast, is now being rebuilt as a high availability, highly efficient, data center. The Design/Build project being completed by Total Site Solutions, of Columbia Maryland, began in January with Phase 1 of the facility slated to open in late July. The initial 35,000 square foot phase will include administrative offices, network operations, and the data center requirements necessary to support NationalNet?s growing customer base. With N+1 redundancy throughout every critical component plus redundant, loop-fed utility power this data center should prove to be a show-piece for NationalNet for many years to come.

?NationalNet is thrilled to announce this expansion despite the tough economic conditions facing our customers and our nation, ?said Tony Morgan, CEO of NationalNet. ?This new data center has the space and configuration to meet the growth needs of our flagship brand of fully managed hosting as well as our rapidly growing colocation division. The new space also allows us to offer a new product: custom designed colocation cages and spaces for enterprise level customers, a category we?ve been eager to offer.?

Bill VanVorst, President of NationalNet added ?In addition to the critical features of the facility, NationalNet will offer customers the choice of network connectivity services on our own blended network, or customers may lease service from any of a number of connectivity providers already at or in the building. Having already set the bar of customer support at its highest level, our new offerings will allow us to cover nearly any customer need.?

About NationalNet

A leader in innovative web hosting solutions, NationalNet is changing the way businesses manage their connectivity. Whether they need full y managed hosting or a custom configured colocation space, NationalNet has solutions that exceed expectations and can fit any budget. NationalNet?s success is built on superior customer service customized to meet the needs of every client. Way to go National Net!

I remember getting a tour of National Net years ago and I remember the security. It was brutal.

SweetT 07-18-2009 01:43 AM

Sorry guys but I am just getting back from the new facility (4:39am) as we have been testing everything and getting it ready to put into service. Tonight we failed every critical component at least 10 times each, then we started failing multiple components at the same time and every single time the redundancy worked to perfection. There is something calming about actually seeing the tests with my own two eyes as opposed to when we have taken over someone elses data center and we assumed they knew what they were doing!

I am heading to bed...when I get up I will answer all of your questions.

Good Night!!

Of course, we will be offering our own legendary blend of NationalNet Premium Bandwidth to all customers but in addition, we installed 400Gbps of redundant fiber back to 56 Marietta Street (one of the most connected buildings in the SE) on which we will offer a basic cross connect so that customers can contract with any provider in that building for their own bandwidth and will only pay us a small cross connect fee.

The plan is to migrate everything together under one roof so that all of our customers can take advantage of the newest, most advanced technologies on the market....additionally, we have always felt it was most important to have everything centrally located so that we can offer the high level of customer support that our clients have come to know and love.

Thanks, Richard! We are actually stepping it up even more in the new facility. Our security at the new facility will be SWAT style security, as opposed to an old lady in a white shirt with an iron-on badge. The company we choose will be using military trained officers in fatigues. You will not want to joke around with these guys, I promise ;)

Thanks for the kudos everyone....we are as stoked about this as anything that I have ever been involved with!! I can't wait to show it off to the people who come to The Atlanta Forum....they will get the first peek at the new facility!!

O.K how does nationalnet support compare to the so called best rackspace where you have your own dedicated team at hand ?

Are we going to get tour of this place when we are at the Atlanta Forum ?

Big kudos goes out to my buddy Andrew, i know this is his baby.

I have a lot of experience with this because I moved from Rackspace to Natnet after being hosted there for nearly 9 years. I can say that Rackspace's so called fanatical support is nowhere near that of Natnet. I hosted on Rackspace as my primary host for mission critical apps and they completely let me down one Sunday afternoon by opening a ticket to tell me my server is down, how would you like us to proceed. They left it down until I arrived to the office the next morning and made no effort to restore service during that time until I called to yell at them. Even when I called to get service restored it took nearly 4-6 hours to do so. I refused to deal with their bs and was on the phone with Tony that monday and fully hosted on Natnet the same day.

How's that for a testimonial, and I came from the so-called best Rackspace to Natnet ;)

I don't know exactly how much power that is, but suffice to say that it is enough to ruin your day.

When he was looking at spending thousands of dollars on that suit I told him he should be able to find a slightly used one with just a small burn on it but he didn't think that was too funny ;)
