I ate lunch with a few guys and there was some funky stuff being served. One thing I ate was chicken feet. That was just wrong in so many ways. My buddy next to me was explaining how the poo they trample on all day gives the feet yummy flavor :Oh crap

You're already eating it. Read up on minimum FDA guidelines for the amount of rat feces, insect parts, and other disgusting shit allowed in food products. Given those amounts--the average consumer probably eats dozens of insects, rats, etc per year. No joke. Look it up.

That is probably right. There is no way that there are no bugs on places where food is produced. It is not just question of keeping that place clean. Insects always find a way to get their way in.
