A friend of mine is looking to get out he is just beat and like to go do other things and just doesnt have the time he use to for the site ,

this is a gay site , the site is around 3 years old . right now it has around 3000 members with the rebils .
the site has around 100,000 pics to it plus alot more to it .

I am not the owner i am jut a friend helping try to sell it , he travels alot and wouldnt be near a pc to talk to people so i am helping with what i can ,

I won't tell who is stupid here but you can't say how much a paysite is worth without knowing all the other important numbers. For example the monthly net profit.

Well, you can make a pretty good guess at it just by using the info he has given. Unless all 3000 of those memberships are trial . . . :Graucho

Assuming all else is accurate - and just for fun let's put the recurring members at 2250. You could make your money back by month 2, easy.

Why would it be worth more? You're totally wrong in that you can't even come close to making a guess without more info. If he runs an affiliate program and the members were referred that's not really a lot of income for the money. Petr has a very valid point.

Horns, do you know how much he charges for a monthly membership? Do you know the paysite's retention? The chargeback and credit ratios? No, you don't have all the information and therefore you can't say that $60k is too little (or too much).

Give me an existing website with 3000 members at 21.95 a month - I don't care if they ALL came from affiliates - and I wouldn't even think of sellling for anything close to that amount.

Your friend only wants $67,000 for a site that brings in $56,000 a month from members? Even if half of that goes to webmasters who referred then 2 months worth of profit still isn't enough in my opinion.

I work for N3tpond and run Alt Masters for them.
I specialize in the gay market and have been in this business for 6, going on 7 years.

But for the life of me. I cannot understand if a site has 3,000 members and recurrs on a based billing of approx $29.95 a month or even 19.95 a month.

Why would you be willing to sell it so cheap?
Even if half that amount goes to Webmasters.
Still, youd be throwing money away, as Nysus stated.

I'm not sure, I'd have to see all logs, billing files and everything before I;d shell out money for it.

Fletch what works for you for traffic buys pricing? We're going to have some avails on exit consoles soon on some high end domains.

I'm not planning on purchasing traffic for the gay stuff anytime soon, Im focusing on other things right now.

I do have Gay Webmaster traffic..lots of it too.

The site probally makes around 40k a month profit not counting salery for the owner and if he has an office/employees.

He would make around $60k a month based on the average in the industry of what his check/web 900 sales would be with his credit cards.

Only number i'm not sure is his % to i-bill. So I guessed 10%.

After that with a 5% reserve, 2k a month in bandwidth, 5k in rented content, 1.5k in new content monthly.

He ends up with around $40k a month.

Now depending on the amount of signups he get's daily and his % of trial to conversion ratio he could be making less money than that. Knowing that he is selling so cheap I bet his members area reflects the public area of the pay site.

Being so I bet 30% trial to conversion is a close guess. Based on that he could have a few 100 people at any time on a trial plus whatever he has in web900 sales which arnt recurring.

The site could pull in as low as 30k a month without paying the owner/employees, office if he has one, ect.

So 67k does seem a little low but my numbers could be way off. It does seem that most adult companies, paysites, free sites, e-mail lists, ect are on about a 2 month return on the sale.

I would have to see the numbers but even based on a guess I wouldnt pay more than 80k for the site so 67k is probally a good deal to whoever buys it.
