How the hell do you cover up a weed leaf tattoo?
 

The stupidest thing I ever done was probably when I got my giant buddha leaf on my upper right arm.

I really want to get it covered up, so I went to InkaDinkaDoo (top class tattoo shop here in pittsburgh) , they said they really couldnt see what they could cover it up with

I was thinking a pin up, but that wont even fucking fit.

Any ideas on what I can get it covered up with?

How about a dragon? I got a dragon tattoo on my back during my drunken frat days back in college.

As much as I love the herb, I cant stand it when I'm at a store and the looks some people give me.

Plus, it is the key to the chasity belt on my breezy, she hates the fucking thing

Meh. Im not into dragons, they make good tattoos but I like to put tattoos on my body that symbolize me, like how I love money, I got a c-note tat, I love pussy so I got a few naked woman tats, etc.

That's strange because I just got finished reading a thread on another board about how Pharrell is getting a skin graft to remove his tattoes:

According to hiphopdx.com, the N.E.R.D frontman revealed this week to Brittish Vogue that his tattoos no longer fit his lifestyle and so he is trying a revolutionary new tattoo removal procedure, which involves applying replicated skin over old body art.

"It's basically like getting a skin graft, but you're not taking skin from your ass or your legs. These guys actually grow the skin for you," he explained. "First you have to give them a sample of your skin, which they then replicate. Once that's been done, they sew it on - and it's seamless."

The current--and most common-- form of tattoo removal is laser treatment which is not only a lengthy process, but excruciatingly painful. The new grafting procedure should be a faster, less painful alternative.

Sound pricey? That's because it is. While Pharrell wouldn't give exact numbers, he did say that regardless of the price he plans to go ahead with the procedure:

"It's going to be pricey, but worth it," "I got fire on my arms! I'm a grown man!"

If I had the money, plus the pain tolerance I would. I heard it can cost up to $10k to get it fully removed. Just easier to get it covered with more ink

The problem with a weed leaf is it's a blob of green.. So the size and location will dictate how easy it is to cover up..

If the shop told you they had no ideas it's cause they suck.

Fair enough. Tattoos are very personal and should symbolize what one "is all about". The dragon tattoo pretty much summed me up back in college. Now that I'm older, I'd probably pick something else. Anyway, I kinda view my tattoo as a 'wearable time capsule'

I think your approaching it all wrong. Don't go to the tat shop and say "I got this and I want it covered up" Then everybody starts thinking "hummm' What could cover that up"

Instead, just come up with what ever you want for you next few piece's and then , take those ideas into the shop , either pre-sketched or a picture , or whatever. Then let the artist tell you "we could use this one to cover that up" or - "I could do something like that to totally hide that leaf"
Point is, give the artist something to work with. That way they feel like they can make it their own. Most artist's HATE going over someone's work, But they like having "cover-ups" in their portfolio (makes them feel better than the first guy)

It's not about what could cover this up.
Question is, what do YOU want for your next piece ?

I covered a weed leaf on a guy once with a peacock, blending the feathers into the leaf, work out nice and looked good

I was thinking about that, but I love weed.

Im probably just going to turn it into a large circle and making it a tit or something. Idk. Ill probably regret that as well in a few years
