a cat and dog going at it is one thing. when the dog owner starts throwing rocks to knock the cat out of the tree fully knowing what the outcome will be, that's just sick. there's nothing natural about that. in nature the cat was free once he went up the tree, all he would have had to do from that point is wait out the dog. in this case he has some sick little beaner chucking rocks at him for his own pathetic enjoyment.

Smile in a weird way? Danza... I don't know you and have no beef with you. Everyone's wired differently, I guess... but grouping an innocent cat's death with the word "smile" is about as awkward as I can imagine. The fact that the cat "lasted as long" made it even harder to watch. If the dog was going to kill it, I'd rather it bite it's fucking head off in an instant than drag it around making it die a slow death.

Like I said, I don't know you... but I do get the sense that see things differently than others. Maybe your military experience allows you to see the death of a cat as just an animal dying... others (like myself) feel a deep sorrow for just watching something die so some loser can post it on youtube.

Some people can just see a random cat dying and move on, others think "what if that was my cat or puppy" and then I think you see things in a different light... at least I do.

The argument that somehow cruelty to something is ok or somehow justified because somewhere something else worse is happening is about as a ridiculous response as I could think of. I was going to post in the thread that I am a vegetarian. I knew that issue was going to come up. I actually turned vegetarian from watching a video on how our meat is produced. It was enough for me to change on the spot. I posted about me being vegetarian in the last animal abuse thread... the other cat one where the dickhead was slamming it's head in the shower.

Anyway, don't get me wrong. I don't care to see anyone/thing suffer. If I had to choose between saving a baby or a kitten from an attacking dog, it would be the baby. However, if I had to choose between a child rapist and a kitten from an attacking dog, I'd save the kitten every single time.

You know... I guess these types of things just strike a real chord with me. I have 2 dogs of my own that I absolutely love and when I see innocent animals being hurt, I automatically think "what if it was mine" and it just really strikes a nerve.

Anyway.. I've said all I really have to say on this and I think I've made myself pretty clear. This guy is about to have a shit storm open up on him and honestly, I hope it's ten fold.

You totally missed my point regarding peta vs the cure for cancer. I will make it clearer.

They are actually doing something. Even though it is 'only' saving animals they are at least doing that much. Peta is the extreme end of the scale anyways. In between peta and you are millions of people who don't condone animal cruelty. You seem to think doing nothing (which is what you are doing) is somehow more righteous than people standing up for what they believe in which fundamentally is not wanting animals to suffer.

Just for the record I can accept people want to eat animals. I personally don't. I however understand that most people do and I accept that. It is not about who eats meat or saving the race or the planet. If you hunt and you kill the animals 'humanly' and eat what you kill then that is absolutely no different from the true animal advocates perspective than the person who buys their shit from the supermarket.

If you smile when you see animals getting ripped apart then lets just say I think it is safe to say you and me probably have not alot in common and I will leave it at that.

This is such an invalid argument it's not even funny. It baffles me that anyone can fail to distinguish the difference between senseless killing of a defenseless animal for entertainment, and the killing of an animal for food. There is a huge huge margin od difference between the two, and if you can't see that divide something is way off with your reasoning.

If the guy shot the cat, skinned it, cleaned it, and ate it, well ok. Plenty of asians eat cat or dog, whatever. Instead this guy chucked rocks at the cat and knocked it out of it's safety position so his dog could maim it, while he videotaped and cheered him on to "kill it, kill it!" That is not the act of a sane person, and was done purely out of blood lust. Not any form necessity whatsoever. These people need to be punished and put into therapy.

The argument that there's worse things happening to worry about is weak too. Nobody is overlooking the fact that murder, rape, war, disease, etc etc are issues that should take our attention. No one is suggesting that we should overlook these things in favor of some guy who gets off torturing animals. There is absolutely no sound reasoning however to overlook one evil simply because there are other evils elsewhere, especially when the guy put his act on display for the world and made it so easy to track him.
