What is you Christmas meal?

We have kind of strange traditions in my family. My brother is married with 3 kids so Christmas day he hangs with them then has dinner at his in laws house. My mom and I (when I am single like now) get a pizza and some junk food then hand out and watch movies then the day after Christmas we do our gift exchange with my brother and his family.

So my Christmas meal will be pizza and junk food. But my Christmas eve meal is going to be chicken mushroom Marsala with tomato fettuccine and a raspberry and walnut salad. I have only made it once before, hopefully I can pull it off again.

Anything that I can drown with lots of booze works for me. :)

tranza 12-24-2008 06:09 AM

My mom is cooking and I still don't know what we're gonna have!

kowalsky 12-24-2008 06:13 AM

I am going to cock a whole fucking lamb. It`s gonna take me like 5 hours, but it`s ok, I`ll get enough wine to make it funny...

Marcus Aurelius 12-24-2008 06:17 AM

Probably nothing.

John-ACWM 12-24-2008 06:32 AM

Everything works if you're with someone you love. Merry Christmas!

HorseShit 12-24-2008 06:57 AM

I'll cook longer than I'll eat, thats a given!

Is it basted in poo?

psili 12-24-2008 12:57 PM

My grandma always cooked crab cioppino on xmas eve. I remember cruising to Half Moon Bay and watch her barter with the fishermen to get the lowest price on dungeness crab. Good times watching a 5 foot, 90 something pound woman work over the snarly fisher dudes. I'm in CO now and my parents just moved nearby so having some cioppino tonight. Xmas day - probably whatever I end up snacking on around my house.

Loki 12-24-2008 12:57 PM

This year I have my daughter today (Christmas Eve) and then her mom has her on Christmas. So were having the whole ham dinner this afternoon.

2morrow I will sleep till I wake up lol, putz around the house and then in the evening were having the First (Annual) 'coffeeshop kids' party, pretty much all the old regulars from the old local coffeeshop.

Were gonna hang out, play Wii, snacks, drinks, etc till ?

It's A Black Sheep Christmas at my house !

BK meal #8... king sized!

PersianKitty 12-24-2008 04:49 PM

Christmas morning is a big Southern breakfast... eggs however you like them, hashbrowns, bacon, sausage, grits, biscuits with sausage gravy. For 46 years I've had Xmas morning at my parents home...even after I had my own family. This year because of the weather and the fact they are a 2 hour drive away, my family is staying here for Xmas morning. We'll be doing the big breakfast though.

Dinner is spiral sliced honey ham, sliced roasted turkey breast, scallop potatoes, cauliflower augratin, green bean casserole and rolls. Dinner is back at home tho.. not at my parents'.

That sounds like an amazing breakfast. Nothing says love like biscuits, gravy and grits.
