GFY rule 3: "do not post people's personal information, or attack people personally"

I think there is a banning in order. A few of them. :2 cents:

Basic Rules of GFY

3. Anything goes, except do not post people's personal information, or attack people personally, stick to the issues.

d-null 12-14-2008 02:16 AM

doesn't the intent of that mean people's home address and phone number, that kind of thing?

public court records of people that are in a position of trust wouldn't be covered by that I wouldn't think?

Barefootsies 12-14-2008 02:17 AM

Many of them.

Tempest 12-14-2008 02:21 AM

It has been shown time and time again that personal information is "private" information, not what's publicly available... Jeez you've turned into a crybaby DWB..

Hey.. since you know Glen at I$ so well, how about answering the question in this thread.

Why would I do that? It's none of my or your business what his (or any of you) real name is or isn't or what he has or has not done in the past.

So basically:

1. you were talking out your ass when you said you get to know the people you work with very well. So IS it your business to know who you're truly doing business with or not?

2. It's him and so you won't say so.

3. well nothing really since if it wasn't you would have said so allready since it's clear you're defending him.

What's with all this smoke screen crap from you?

I can call anyone I do business with and often do. What his/her birth name is of no concern to me should they use another "Stage name" as so many in our industry do, including me. I respect a persons privacy, as should you.

What I'm saying is that displaying anyone real name here is out of line unless that person lists it her on their own. It is not up to you or me who has their real name listed here. What better off will any of us be if we find out that is or is not his name? Who cares? re you going to tell me that GFY is full of good Christians who have never had any run-ins with the law in some form or another? Hardly. This industry was started by the fucking mafia, why is everyone surprised when they find out someone here has a criminal history?

I'm defending a friend who is being personally attacked. If you have a problem with the company, attack the company and not the man.

pocketkangaroo 12-14-2008 04:01 AM

So whether or not someone has been charged with credit card fraud is of no importance to others who may do business with them? Next you'll tell me that it's irrelevant if your babysitter was charged with child molestation in the past since it's disrespectful to their privacy. Or whether your financial adviser was ever charged with criminal theft.

Has he been? You can confirm this? Is that what is going on now and you can prove it? Can you back up with hard proof everything he is accused of?

Didn't think so.

Enjoy your bandwagon ride while it lasts. :2 cents:

umm i think you are speaking from the heart not your head. Thats a silly statement. If someone was convicted of credit card fraud and they are now processing credit cards AND you work for them, i think common sense says you should at least CONSIDER this information.

If you needed a babysitter and your neighbour told you your babysitter had been convicted of molesting children , are you telling me his real name and his past are his own private info and you dont need to know ? :Oh crap

The Duck 12-14-2008 09:40 AM

They do enforce it. Some scammer posted my full name, adress, all the details basically and when I mailed the mods about it they took action and removed it.

You started this thread. Why would you start the thread. Say something you know people are going to argue with you about. Then say you aren't wasting your time. If you don't have time to waste. You probably shouldn't have started this thread.

For the most part it is. I believe the exception is when that information is already publicly available through whois or public records.

I don't want to start a fight with you, but first you say adult biz is about money ... and that's it ... and now it is about friendship. Cool to be your friend, but you contradict your own ideas at the moment ....

Almost all personal information is available through whois or public records. Putting the persons name and address on a public board puts it in Google. I am sure there are arguments either way but I personally am opposed to doing that to people on a public board.

Banning? I think DukeSkywalker deserves an award. Seriously. If he weren't already rich I'd send him some money and a plaque in reward for his efforts. We can call it the "Matt Drudge Award For Heroism in Porn Journalism." A "Drudgy" if you will. A statue of a scamming paysite's owner with a webmaster's head up his ass and a bunch of other webmasters trying to pull the other webmaster's head out of the ass. Pretty cool.

It's fucking about time someone called out the bullshit in this way.

I wish people would think of this industry as a whole instead of doing and supporting whatever lines their own pockets at this specific moment. Supporting $100 PPS, the money you're making now is simply pre-payment on the money you're going to lose later when people are too afraid to join a porn site because of their past experience.

Use common sense people. How is it possible to make a profit paying a $100+ commission on a $30 sale without fucking over SOMEONE? It's NOT. You really think their members area is SOOOO freaking incredibly awesome that people are tripping over themselves to join more and more of their websites, promoted within the original website's members area, that typically have nothing to do with the niche of the site they did join? Seriously!?!?!?? Especially sites that got bought out 4 months ago and haven't had one new scene added to them since?

In my opinion, these companies are simply paying you $100 for someone's valid credit card information. Nothing more than that. Might as well just start a non-porn site that's hosted outside of the United Sates and states plainly that you pay $100 commission for every sucker's valid credit card info you can provide. At least that would be slightly more honest. Why parade as a porn site trying to do the same thing.

When people worry only about themselves, then all they're good for is governor of Illinois. In my opinion, they're not welcome in this business as they are stealing nice, horny unsuspecting porn surfers from honest smut-peddlers like myself, Duke, Sherm, and hundreds, if not thousands, of others.

I know we're smut-peddlers, but c'mon, "do unto others, mother fuckers"

It is 100% inevitable that these crazy payouts are going to go away. CC companies and disgruntled surfers will make it so. I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

posting what is availible on google is no different than posting a myspace page.

If someone posted private info that wasn't availible to the public, I agree with you. But, if you name is right there on google, for something you did and got in trouble for it, it's a matter of public record, or it wouldnt have been released in the first place.

I didnt post anyones name. I merely posted public documents.

While I often get pissed off at the volume of non-business related threads and the lack of controls by the mods that allow unreasonable PPS sponsors to peddle their snake-oil on here, and the lack of controls by the mods to allow owner's of programs with 100% stolen content to show up here and attempt to buddy up to the people they steal from, I cannot deny that GFy is the most active and best adult webmaster forum on the planet. I'm just doing may part to help it stay that way.

I appreciate the kind words. I sincerely do.

Thankfully, I make enough already to keep food in my fridge, a roof over my head and my cock buried in a 18 year olds ass every week. All I ask is that you don't promote programs that don't make sense. $100 commission on a $30 sale does not make sense.

That's what I'm talking about!....Keep your fridge full and your dick wet...

You really appreciate it when it's snowing outside and you're looking out of the window from your warm cozy home eating a bowl of cereal thanking the Lord for the internet and porn.

But then there would not much of a board left. When you consider illegal tube sites, GF sites, pre-checked x-sells, questionable or stolen content etc. and everyone who is involved as either a principal or an affiliate I would guess that would be at least 90% of the actual webmasters on this board. :2 cents:
