LADIES.....I Fucking Did It!!!!!!!

last week i went to the tree lot, picked out my xmas tree, tied it to the top of my 4runner, got it home in one piece, rolled that 7ft fucker over my shoulder somehow from the roof of the vehicle, got it up a flight of stairs and into my living room ALL BY MYSELF WITH NO HELP FROM A MAN!!! i dropped that tree on the floor, yelled "i fucking did it!!!" and proceeded to do the most badass touchdown dance you ever saw.

my next thought was "hey, i only need a man for my sexual pleasure now, no other reason"

what have you done that is stereotypically "a man's job"? share and empower us

ok boys, if you can't resist commentary, impress us with what you have done that is "women's work" :winkwink:

munki 12-08-2008 01:14 PM

I washed the dishes once... it was a proud moment.

Then Beth told me I didn't do 'em right and rewashed them, then the moment was less proud.

CIVMatt 12-08-2008 01:15 PM

I pulled my dick out a few minutes ago but it didn't suck itself

rhon23 12-08-2008 01:15 PM

That's kinda hot!

I get all excited when I fix small things in my house or hook up electronics all by myself.

stickyfingerz 12-08-2008 01:17 PM

I would of helped you getting the trunk in your "tree stand" :disgust:winkwink::upsidedow

TotemMary 12-08-2008 01:18 PM

Wahoo Julie!

I bought a new TV, got it home unpackaged and all hooked up to stereo, dvd and cable before the hubby even walked through the door.

I also changed a fuse in my car.. who knew? Cars have fuses? That instruction manual is the one that was actually helpful.

Honez 12-08-2008 01:19 PM

You GO girl!!!!

Let's see. I think one of my defining moments was flying across the country to help one of my girlfriends make a move from D.C. to Phoenix. The UHaul dudes were clueless so I had to get the auto transporter hooked up to the truck, get her car on it, strap it down, and then I drove that bad boy cross country through snow and extremely high winds (I fought the wheel so hard that my muscles cramped up in my shoulders) and delivered her safely to her new home. :)

Oh and I changed out the shocks on my car once many, many years ago.

PrescottatMedley 12-08-2008 01:19 PM

Its like the first time I was able to use my lawnmower. I had to go to Home Depot to ask for directions on how to get it to run. It was a proud day when I could finally see my backyard again! Who knew they made lawnmowers that need to be plugged in?

tASSy 12-08-2008 01:19 PM

i am the go-to-girl for all things tech in our home for whatever reason i didn't end up with a male tech-savy person here! although on the xmas tree front, we went out the day after thanksgiving (which i swore i wouldn't do) and we decorated it saturday. last night all presents went under the tree after a wrapping fest and we're good to go!

about the only thing i can think of that i do that's traditionally considered the man's job around here is taking out the full garbages and recycling to the bins for pick up, but i get in trouble when i do that. :upsidedow "that's the man's job!" :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

good job on your tree!!! :thumbsup

thunder99 12-08-2008 01:20 PM

mrwilson 12-08-2008 01:22 PM

Congrats i guess :thumbsup

KBoogie 12-08-2008 01:23 PM

I unfortunately have had to get my own tree with my children for several years now. There is a farm by my house that we pick one from and a nice young man comes with a chain saw and cuts in down and ties it to the top of my car. It's not that fun, I am proud of you! :winkwink:

DzilaD 12-08-2008 01:26 PM

Hip-Hip-Her-Ay:banana

LauraLee 12-08-2008 01:26 PM

Enjoy the feeling Julie :)

I have also procured my own christmas tree sans help the last 3 years. Only difference is, I have 3 flights of stairs!

I do more of the chic stuff like cooking and cleaning, but let's see, I hang all my own artwork (not sure that I should be, as I am constantly 'straightening' one painting or another..). Oh and I refilled my power steering fluid last week. weeeeee! lol

Juicy D. Links 12-08-2008 01:27 PM

who wants to see my hannukah bush?

Babagirls 12-08-2008 01:29 PM

That's awesome!

I shovel our long driveway, concrete patio, and sidewalks everytime it snows (which, in Wisconsin, is about every day and about 6 inches per snowfall. lol) Takes me 2 hours everytime it snows, and most of the time it's that snow/rain crap that is heavy as hell.

MandyBlake 12-08-2008 01:30 PM

i would have paid someone to do that for me. lol

Marky333 12-08-2008 01:31 PM

OMG, that's insane! this post deserves "I am woman, hear me roar!!". i have driven in deep snow when i couldn't even see 2 ft. in front of me in the past. it's hard enough without the big truck and trailer. kudos to you gorgeous :thumbsup

DK 12-08-2008 01:34 PM

Sounds like I need to move closer to you IP!
I used to build houses and look great in a toolbelt!

Mrs F.U.B.A.R. 12-08-2008 01:34 PM

way to go ladies :thumbsup
I can't think of specifics right now but over the years I have handled many tasks out of necessity simply because he isn't always around when things have come up like needing to prime the water pump, car stuff, weekly garbage take out and even helping to push the neighbours cars out when they get stuck in the middle of the night. I simply look at it as "you do what you gotta do" and yeah Mary when in doubt read the manual :1orglaugh

rhon23 12-08-2008 01:40 PM

oh yeah I have also put in an alternator and changed breaks on a car when I was young and broke

K R I S T E N 12-08-2008 01:42 PM

good for you - I did the same thing yesterday!

TondaB 12-08-2008 01:43 PM

Wow, congrats Julie! I have mowed and edged the yard, moved heavy furniture, pulled a camping trailer and all involved in that...the list goes on and on.

We are strong, independent women hear us roar!!!

impressive! i would be scared to use one but might have to give it a try now.

PersianKitty 12-08-2008 01:46 PM

Unless you count my sons, there's not been a man around my place for 9 years.

I've replaced a garbage disposal in my kitchen, fixed the wiring on my trash compactor (cause I was determined it was too easy to call Sears for), and replaced a few light switches over the years. I need to redo a few electrical sockets but for some reason those freak me out more than light switches.

RyuLion 12-08-2008 01:48 PM

why does this doesn't surprise me a bit..?
that's because I knew were a girl that can acomplish anything you put your mind towards..

C-Luv 12-08-2008 01:50 PM

Congrats girl, that is hard to do on your own. Good for you!!!!

See reading about this kinda stuff, and Honez changing out a car part as well-- now that is cool shit :thumbsup

WiredGuy 12-08-2008 01:53 PM

I spend 2-3 hours per week on my hands and knees scrubbing my floors, shoveling the snow (winters) and cutting the grass (summer). Not to mention cleaning out the hot tub and pool. I'm so proud afterwards, lol.

TotemMary 12-08-2008 01:54 PM

This all just goes to prove that we can do ANYTHING!

We just have to take a chance, make a choice and try something new.

For women who were probably raised with dolls and frilly dresses, these things can seem very, very daunting. A little faith and a little risk and look what we can do!

Tjeezers 12-08-2008 01:56 PM

why dont you girls take over the world?
would be about time you set your goals some higher ;)

Triple10Terry 12-08-2008 01:56 PM

You rock Julie!! Those xmas trees can be a bitch!

Well my wife and daughter went out shopping for a few hours yesterday so I washed and dried 3 loads of clothes, cleaned 2 bathrooms, changed the kitty litter, blew the leaves off the back deck, carport and driveway then prepared a steak fajita dinner all while watching the Falcons-Saints game. :thumbsup

That sucks...snow can twist your back up. You should set a goal of having a heated drive way and patio....melt that shit with a flip of a switch
