I rented this movie on video the other night and I am posting to warn people to avoid this abysmal movie at all costs.

It is, without a doubt, the most retarded film I have EVER had the misfortune of watching. It is an absolute abortion of a movie and demonstrates that movie studios are indeed pitching their product at the lowest common denominator - the all-American retard.

Please Osama, when you get a chance, destroy Hollywood and the evil movie studios that dwell within. You would be doing both the world and the art of cinema a great service.

Dude, it's been running on most movie channels for the past few months so why bother renting it. The movie has its few moments...

I don't know whats up with Hollywood these days, I don't see any movie worth seeing. What happen to all the gangster movies, like Godfather, Goodfellas, Casino, how come they don't make movies like that anymore :(

It beats renting movies that you don't like...you can watch a few minutes & then flip the channel. Cheaper in the long run...

I don't watch that much TV because 99% of it is shit. I have better things to spend my money on. I just have to remember to read reviews of movies at "Film Threat" before renting them out.

The only thing i found funny in Joe Dirt was when the dog got its nuts stuck to floor.... i pissed myself laughing at that.... the rest of the film was complete shite

I saw david spade on saturday in eastern washington - on his comedy circuit. good stuff. was suppose to see richard jeni on saturday - but I think he's cancelled his show in seattle =(

Worst piece of junk EVER created has to be that goddamn "Armageddon" movie. I almost puked all over myself when that one came.

Ok haters, Joe Dirt happens to be an AWESOME MOVIE! I've seen it at least a dozen times, most likely more. Lots of great actors and hella funny moments. SO STEP OFF! :BangBang:

there are a ton of good movies out there, but you can't rely on your Roger Eberts and your Rex Reeds (god I hate that fucker)...they know dick about underground and independent movies...

good call on FilmThreat, but also check out the message board at www.joblo.com and the stuff reviewed over at www.b-independent.com seek out the dusty section of the video store...

remember, if Blockbuster Video has more than 1 copy of any movie, wait to check it out...I thrive on the treasure hunt that is going to a mainstream video store and finding movies that they only have one copy of...I would have avoided movies like "The Cube", "Gummo" and "Welcome To The Dollhouse" if they would have had more than a single copy and I probably would have missed out on these great flicks....thank goodness for the Blockbuster way of carrying 100 copies of "Pearl Harbor" and only one copy of "Killer Klowns From Outer Space".......

You seem to have a good knowledge of independent and foreign cinema. Your underground video store had better have Hong Kong action classics (Woo's earlier films etc etc), Troma films and early Peter Jackson (Bad Taste, Brain Dead).

BTW, I love art. I go to Europe every year and wander around art galleries stoned. Art is one of the few things that separates human beings from other animals. I can't get enough of it... fine art, sculpture, architecture, photography, whatever...

Well, if you don't know who David Spade & Dennis Miller are then I can't help you. It's a comedy, and it was funny. It wasn't Braveheart or the Shawshank Redemption, but it served it's purpose of entertaining. Smoke a blunt and watch it again :thumbsup

You know it... did a huge article on Hong Kong cinema for SetGo :) and I own Bad Taste on both video and dvd....and looking for the stronger cut of Brain Dead before I plunk down any money for the DVD...the first time I rented the movie, I made the biggest fuckup of all time, rented the r-rated version by mistake...I'm actively seeking "Forgotten Silver" a small film Peter Jackson did in his early years but it's very hard to find (almost as hard to find (in the US anyways) as "Meet The Feebles"....

Troma films? now, you've really found my softspot...while I can sit through artsy fartsy and acting clinic type films, I'm most at home with cheesy b movies, horror flicks and just plain fucked up movies..."Tromeo and Juliet" is my favorite of the Troma films (any films featuring incest, body piercing, lesbianism, mutations, the writings of William Shakespear and narration by Lemmy from Motorhead can't miss), but damn, lately they've been putting their name on everything and have been tarnished a bit, but I did notice they picked up the rights to "Combat Shock" one of the most fucked up "vietnam vet hallucinating and fucking people up" movies I've ever seen (and of course shot for only about $40K) Hmm, maybe I should do a write-up on that flick...

No kidding...why can't people just watch a flick every now and then without having to find the meaning to life in it.

I've seen gummo...I"ve seen happiness...I've seen independent flicks that will never make it to Syk's underground video store.

But I've also laughed my ass off at anything and everything the Farrely bros touch...or Adam Sandler flicks...and I even laughed at some of the stupider moments in Joe Dirt.

Was it a great flick? naw...there's better...glad it showed up on cable.

But everynow and then you just need something stupid to give the brain a bit o' relaxation.
