Liking so far a lot, and LOVE that I can drag a tab out of the existing window to a new window. Very handy.

yeah, it'll be out soon I believe. I'm waiting on this one as well :thumbsup You can just imagine how fast it'll be then! As it uses WebKit rendering engine ;)

scubadiver626 09-03-2008 02:33 AM

its pretty dope, really clean interface, only thing i don't like so far is that when you open a bunch of tabs it just bunches them together no tab scrolling like FF3. Waiting for it to come out for my Mac too so i can ditch Opera...

Manowar 09-03-2008 02:38 AM

yeah, it's fucking awesome, so fast

I just read the privacy statement but there is written nothing about chrome sending surf information about you to google. They clearly state that the only information they send to google is the url and search query's you type so they can fill out their autocomplete form and add sites to their search engine..

None of this info is person binded..

Did you read the disclaimer?

bbm 09-03-2008 03:38 AM

I love this browser!

Trax 09-03-2008 03:42 AM

no tab browsing is gay

xxweekxx 09-03-2008 03:56 AM

here:

Although you, of course, retain any copyrights to your own content that you use within Chrome, Google says it has a right to display that content, in conjunction with promoting its services. Here's the exact wording:

"By submitting, posting or displaying the content you give Google a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free, and non-exclusive license to reproduce, adapt, modify, translate, publish, publicly perform, publicly display and distribute any content which you submit, post or display on or through, the services. This license is for the sole purpose of enabling Google to display, distribute and promote the services and may be revoked for certain services as defined in the additional terms of those services."

mona 09-03-2008 05:49 AM

I really like it...Just tried it out last night, pretty cool. REALLY plain looking though. However, I love the screen shots of the most visited sites when you open a new tab :)

Sarah_Jayne 09-03-2008 05:52 AM

I am tempted but going to let other people feel it out for a while.

The Duck 09-03-2008 06:01 AM

I will wait for the community to kick in a bit.

acratophorum 09-03-2008 06:12 AM

anyone figure out how to turn off the 'most visited' feature when you open a new tab? Don't want this to display porn sites when guest uses my PC LOL

tranza 09-03-2008 08:29 AM

I'll try it later....want to check out if it's really fast!

anc13 09-03-2008 08:50 AM

It's not the browsers that need fixing, it's the exchange webmail.
It's coded wrong so that only IE can interpret it.

PantieZ 09-03-2008 09:09 AM

Looks like you don't understand specifically what data they are using.

When you type URLs or queries in the address bar, the letters you type are sent to Google so the Suggest feature can automatically recommend terms or URLs you may be looking for. If you choose to share usage statistics with Google and you accept a suggested query or URL, Google Chrome will send that information to Google as well. You can disable this feature as explained here.
If you navigate to a URL that does not exist, Google Chrome may send the URL to Google so we can help you find the URL you were looking for. You can disable this feature as explained here.
Google Chrome's SafeBrowsing feature periodically contacts Google's servers to download the most recent list of known phishing and malware sites. In addition, when you visit a site that we think could be a phishing or malware site, your browser will send Google a hashed, partial copy of the site's URL so that we can send more information about the risky URL. Google cannot determine the real URL you are visiting from this information. More information about how this works is here.
Your copy of Google Chrome includes one or more unique application numbers. These numbers and information about your installation of the browser (e.g., version number, language) will be sent to Google when you first install and use it and when Google Chrome automatically checks for updates. If you choose to send usage statistics and crash reports to Google, the browser will send us this information along with a unique application number as well. Crash reports can contain information from files, applications and services that were running at the time of a malfunction. We use crash reports to diagnose and try to fix any problems with the browser.
You may choose Google as your search engine using Google Chrome, and you may also use Google Chrome to access other Google services such as Gmail. The Privacy Policies of Gmail or other services apply when you access them, no matter which browser you use. Using Google Chrome to connect to Google services will not cause Google to receive any special or additional personally identifying information about you.
This stuff is all pretty standard. There's nothing there that I object to. The privacy policy for Chrome is located at http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en-US/privacy.html

I'd suggest you to read slashdot.org sometimes. I believe it won't be so funny to you then :winkwink:

notime 09-03-2008 10:41 AM

I see chrome suggest a website with every letter I type in the url.
Must be a new way to measure type-ins and add that as a new part of page-rank & google rank. This could infuence SEO a lot I guess.
