Heath Ledger - fake suicide?
 

How pissed would you be if the Movie Studio announced that Heath Ledger was still alive and that they planted the "Suicide" story just to promote their movie?

All of the Heath Ledger sucide stuff was just a promotional tool for the studio - timed with the release of The Dark Knight movie?

They roll in $$$$ and laugh at the audience members who believed the studio's fake press releases and then simply put out an apology (after they get your money).

So you agree with my original theory that they faked the whole thing? I think you are on to something with the sequel need of the star! But, what news would they plant for the sequel and who would believe it after the first admission of the fake suicide story plant?

Talk about The Dark Knight was very slim until after Heath Ledger died.

Oh give me a break. They had not even really began to ramp up PR much when he killed himself as it was still to early. This film would of done just as well or very close to what it did over the course of its run even without his death. The film franchise has always had a huge following regardless of the fans of Ledger.

I remember how everyone ran out to see Danny Devito as "The Penguin" and how they couldn't keep the crowds away when Tommy Lee Jones played "Two Face" or whatever.

I think even the last batman movie did exactly the same (or close to the same) at the box office as this "Heath Ledger" Batman movie did.

I don't think his death had much impact at all. Like others said, the franchise was already huge. All that anybody (at least me) knew of Ledger was that he played a homosexual cowboy in a movie a few years ago.

I can just see the crowd's of dudes now: "Let's see the new Batman! The guy that played a gay cowboy is in it!" "Really? I'm in!"

I'm not disputing how well it would have done. I'm just saying that I didn't hear very many people talk about The Dark Knight until after Heath Ledger died. He did make a bad ass Joker, that's for sure.

Worth more to who? The people who made "The Dark Knight"? Clearly not, they don't own him.

Maybe the studios killed him so we would have something to talk about, instead of getting ourselves laid, just to "keep us out of the datinggame" so to speak. So instead of going out chucking away our payrolls at chasing girls, we would spend our money on going to the movies instead??

I saw Heath Ledger at a Circle K buying junk food. I asked him if he had seen the stories about his "death" and he just ran off with his Doritos and Dr. Pepper and snack cakes. I tried to follow him but he lost me.

yeah.. the movie studio plants a story about suicide. its that easy. it has nothing to do with the police, the coroner, the forensic analysis team and detectives, the lengthy investigation, the report, the death certificate, the autopsy results, his will and estate or anything else.

a reported just runs a simple story..thats all it takes!

obviously all the family is quite cool with thinking their kid/nephew/uncle/cousin etc is dead... just a harmless prank. or... maybe tons of friends and family members know and they all just enjoy being in on the joke... or maybe they all understand its "just business" and none of them say anything because Australians are unusually disciplined when it comes to resisting the urge to gossip?
