this industry is a pathetic joke
Seriously who is actually trying to make any money is this shithole dying industry anymore? Worst industry ever and is only going to get worse until its completely dead.
The smart people are selling all their stuff and leaving while they still can. |
Good Bye!
|
No sales today ?
|
Why not make as much money as possible before it completely dies? By the way, I highly doubt its gonna happen. Industry will evolve itself into something, somehow .. and most of us as well.
|
wow, the sky is falling two times in one day... cool.

"Industry" LOL! And just what industry are you in Mssimpson? The surfer "industry" or the "submitter" industry? Go get a real job and let the grownups handle the actual porn biz.

I didn't know that the submitter industry was a bad place to be. Learn something every day. :) |

And if you noticed the original poster made the smart ass comment that the smart people are all selling their "stuff" and getting out. But if that person is just another of the thousands and thousands of people who came along AFTER the late 90's with a dream of making millions by submitting...then I would say that our original poster here, has NOTHING to sell anyway and again is commenting in general out of ignorance. |

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh List all the sites you have for sale Ill scoop em right up! |
Are you sure you don't want to make one more tube site?

Probably because there are only a few good submitters (like me :pimp) :thumbsup |
You forgot to include your paypal donate button.

well, well, well
lots of such threads recently, this one is probably only half serious always some people like Barefootsies or Robbie saying things are only getting better for them but then you also have some other truly established big-time webmasters like xxxjay or WG claiming its getting worse so... basically.. be happy if you're the one who still increases all the time I'd say I'm not willing to share too much about myself but I'm seeing lots of bad trends for sure |

I simply gave some examples of other big webmasters who do admit to see some decline they rely on SE traffic mostly as far as I know and it looks like the ratios are simply getting worse and worse for general porn (general meaning everything except the true marginal niches or fetishes) then you got the big tgp owners who also see declines in traffic some people surely adapt, but if they adapt by opening tube sites, they are bashed by everyone... well sure you can say that they can open also legit tube sites, but as far as I know, among the big tube sites, there aren't any that are 100% legit (correct me if I'm wrong) so I guess the key is to run "small" paysites catering to a very specific niche, with exclusive content and promoting it in the proper way sure it can be done, Im just saying that you can't deny that there are many people who are really succesfull but they see some decline recently instead of growing and that's quite alarming ok, hahaha is growing as well overall. Then again, I wonder how many of the programs that sold to hahaha were in a growing trend and how many started to decline... |
one less...
|
YES this industry is a pathetic joke, but there is plenty of cash to go around and those who can adapt will stand to continue to make a lot of money for many years to come.
I don't like this industry, I'm not gonna lie. But it turned out that I can make a killing in it, so for that reason, I have sold out to the porn demons and continue to hang my head in shame all the way to the bank. |

Don't believe me? Just take a look at Glenn and Incredible Dollars. He STARTED in online porn TWO years ago and is making money hand over fist. MILLIONS OF DOLLARS A MONTH. The bad trends are no different than they were 10 years ago. Some people have the touch to make money...most don't. Always been that way, always will. I posted this in another "doom and gloom" thread today and I'll include it here as well: Quote:

YER FACE IS A PATHETIC JOKE [/SARCASM] Anyone relying 100% on adult is an idiot in my opinion. I keep my hands in both mainstream and adult. Then again, I'm a developer, so if adult goes down, no big deal to me. |

Everytime I'm at a show including the upcoming Internext in Florida...I always end up at a private get together or dinner with 20 to 30 people in this business. And I'm ALWAYS the "poorest" guy there. Those guys just don't bother posting replies to these stupid "sky is falling" threads. I try not to, but damn it. I can only stand seeing this nonsense so many times. Yes, if you made a living submitting galleries to tgps...you MAY have fallen on hard times. But hell, that happened 6 years ago when we cut off taking submissions on AL4A and Ampland and started using nothing but hosted galleries and paid submissions. Yeah, there may be a few guys out there who make quality galleries that are unique and can still make a good living. Bravo and good job to them. But then there are the thousands of wannabe's with start up blogs and scripted tgps and god only knows what other methods of trying to make a sale...and for them...YES the sky IS falling. But they never really were in the game to begin with. So for those people to make all these pronouncements and speak so matter-of-factly about shit that they don't know just gets to me. So I end up coming on here and babbling. LOL! I'll shut up now and go edit some killer interracial footage we just shot. :) |

I do not think it's just the niche, I share a true passion for my market, and I think that shows. Plus in the celeb (feet) market. I have been in the game a decade. So I am not just a greasy sales man pushing cross sales. There is a 'trust' factor associated as well. |

I do not rely on SERPs. If they are good, as they are for some sites, then it's great and takes care of it's self. I just work my niches with the different angles from forum posts, gal submits, cross links, and whatever other ways I think of to push more sales. But as I said in my reply to zingerz.... I am always passionate about my niche. So I take the gentle touches that an assembly line mentality will not. Working those little link lists, and other tweaks. I'll give you an example.. When we had a few more sites we were doing content for, a little less near and dear to my heart, we started moving to that assembly line mentality. Cranking out the content as fast as possible with little regard to anything else. The members started e-mailing about what they did and did not like so we adjusted. Since then, I sold off two of the sites/niches that were not as interesting to me personally, or profitable marginswise, to my liking. That way I could spend more time on my real love and money makers. As people can see from my ratios (see sig nig :winkwink:) we are good at what we do. But between my passion, niche, and marketing. I think it's different then the main two concepts most do.... 1. Throw enough traffic at shit and hope some stick 2. Crank out new content just to have new content. No real passion behind the scenes. :2 cents: |
