Firefox: Do you love it? Not me.
I don't like having to write code to make things work in firefox when it works so easily
in IE. Make really cool code, then oops...gotta recode for firefox. :disgust |
Cross-browser code or bust :2 cents:
|
I use ie on my windows computer but on my linux computer I have to use Firefox. I can't stand it, it crashes constantly. I don't know if it is the version I have or what but it just closes down and I have to restart it. It's not a huge deal because it restores the session I was in but it is an annoyance. I prefer to use ie.

firefox is really easy for simple html but when you start embeding objects and doing other cool stuff the shit just fails without writing some off-the-wall wacky code for firefox. And the information about the problem is no where to be found. For me there is just no such thing as something didn't work in internet explorer, it's always firefox that needs it's special attention like a retarded child. |

Then listen to all the firefox lovers who swear by it and expect every website to provide 2 sets of coding just to support firefox. |
firefox>ie

you'd better get with the times kiddo or risk falling behind

Firefox pwn ie,especialy with latest version. For example firefox blocks sites which contain virus installs.First i though that is feature of some plugin which i have installed, but it seems that is default feature of firefox.I could go on and on why is firefox better, but that will take toolong time.

firefox just rocks! It's Microsoft's fault why IE is shitty browser with weird standards....

See Sig. :1orglaugh |
sometimes code works in IE and not Firefox because when IE sees a problem it tries to correct it and if it does it shows up properly in IE when in actuality you have a problem in your code...
|
Yer doing it backwards noob...
Code for Firefox and tweak for Ie :) |

player so that it can resize a video properly. If your video ever looks odd then switch to IE and watch it play just fine. |
Man, doing research and using templating is hard.
|
My firefox crashes every 10 minutes. How does that "rock"?
|
You're wrong ... Firefox is the more standards compliant browser. If you get shit working in IE and neglect Firefox, you're writing bad code.
Fix it :) Don't be lazy :) |

They don't do any real programming. They code some html and get it to work and now they are gurus and everybody else is a noob. :1orglaugh |

I'm just saying that it's more work for programmers. More work is more work no matter how much work it is. |

The current version of firefox does not even resize a media player properly unless you force the surfer to download an old plugin that should have been thrown out years ago. It doesn't matter how clean your code is, the plugin is the only way firefox can do it correctly. |

I hadn't realized I was speaking with the Buddha of web programming, the Zeus of the Web, who is crying because the infidels do not understand the magnitude of his brilliance. There there, one day everyone will realize that you're not a pathetic attention seeker but a misunderstood genius and everything will be alright. I can feel it in my bones. |
not a fan of firefox although i use it, mainly for firebug. ff3 crashes alot for me, they fixed the mem leak it seems which was around for YEARS. i dunno how anyone would consider that acceptable and tout it as great browser... nothing great about seeing up to a gig of ram being sucked up when u have 1 tab open.
standards are great, but they're worthless when they're not really standard anyway and wont. no matter how u slice it u still going to end up having to adjust for 1 browser over another. i actually think ff3 crashes more than ie7 does now... |
Sortie do you realize how stupid you sound?
Watch the ego bro.. |

So please explain in great detail why firefox can't resize media player correctly without forcing the surfer to download the old plugin. If this means nothing to you (type="application/x-ms-wmp) then maybe you should hold off on calling me stupid. |
FF3 is the Christ.
|
Firefox is w3c compliant, IE is not. [/end thread] :2 cents:
|
Media player is made by Microsoft, no news it won't work well on ANY other browser except IE. That is so Bill! =)

Gotta say, I hate FF with a passion :)

I for one don't even like using FF much less having to deal with the crap it screws up. |
I like traffic lights.

Personally I hate Firefox. I hate using it and coding for it. I only use for Tor and to check how my code looks. Otherwise I would never use it.
|
I dont like FF and I HATE IE. Opera is the only one for me!
|
Firefox is far from perfect but good lord, IE is the biggest piece of bloatware crap to come along since ... well, Windows. Every time I open IE (very rarely, thankfully) I cringe at how much worse it seems to be getting with each version.
As for coding, I don't code anything that needs tweaking for FF or IE or anything else. Keep compliant if you can. And for those of you who do write uber code and say from experience it's a pain, fine, I won't argue. But from a browsing POV, I have issues with FF sure, but the pros far, far outweigh the cons. :2 |
you fucking idiots need to hire someone who knows wat they are doing, my code MAYBE has a single margin change for ie and ALL browsers, bunch of pussies here.
