It's the end of US domination

This is just the beginning of our downfall, and the drop in our economy. We still got a ways to go in the free fall of our economy - housing, stock market, value of our dollar, etc...

Yes, I know it sounds like this is a "The sky is falling" thread, but things don't look good in my eyes and many others.

Brad 07-04-2008 08:38 AM

It's been this way for a while now. When my friend went to start grad school down in Colorado 2 years ago he had to open a bank account. They offered him a $750,000 mortgage. this is a guy depositing the bare minimum to get a student visa. Not really the kind of risk anyone in their right mind would be taking, but they did. Obviously he is not a total fucking retard and just laughed in their face. But when he told me that...I knew the US was fucked.

Actually, we all knew they were fucked when they voted in Bush not once but twice.

David! 07-04-2008 08:42 AM

The day the US is done is the day is the earth is done, don't bring that Roman Empire bullshit too, different times.
As for Europre, they can't even agree on a fucking constitution and wait til the Turks really start knocking on your door!
Now get used to it.

pornguy 07-04-2008 08:44 AM

I think that things will come back up, and stabilize , and then slowly grow again, and this time to new record highs.

qxm 07-04-2008 08:46 AM

I knew this shit was going down when I saw bankers lending money and making contracts with people who didn't know how to read (not even their native language!)

You must’ve been listening to Coast To Coast AM with George Noory last night.

BlackCrayon 07-04-2008 08:51 AM

People are so short sighted. I bet people were pretty down during the great depression too but America came back stronger than ever.

i listen to him every night.

i also trade in the stock market, forex, and have been investing in properties in the US and in asian countries so have a pretty good understanding of the world economy.

the stock market is totally fucked right now. many companies are at their 52 week lows, and if i thought the economy wouldn't go down even more i would be buying up these stocks right now. every single economic trend i look at just keeps showing we are in for a world of hurt in the upcoming years.

nothing hard to understand here... every 5 election periods or so there comes a douche bag that fucks everything up........ overreacting due to the current economic condition would be like saying the world is going to end just because the nikkei is undergoing a self correction..

on the other hand the hydron collider might just be the end ... lol

Off course, let's take a rookie who doesn't have a clue and will send this country back a century over and old fart who's been around the block a few times and knows how things work in DC.
Next time you go to see a dentist, make sure to ask for the one that hasn't graduated from med school yet...

Exactly my thoughts. The difference this down cycle is we have the Internet in full swing which allows a lot more "theories" to be communicated like wild fire.

tony286 07-04-2008 10:36 AM

I had lunch with my old boss, as right wing as right wing can get. When I worked for him, he actually got Rush's newsletter in the mail. When we had lunch he said we are on the road to becoming a third world country. This is from one of the biggest captalists I know.

Yeah lets take the guy who doesnt shit about the real world, which leaders run which regions, the guy who has a problem keeping his cool after being asked softball questions, who crashed and burned every time he flew a mission, who helped his captures create propaganda movies, who is older than dust, who cheated on his wife, who steal from the poor, who has no clue what the economics encompass, who regularly makes huge mistakes when speaking in front of crowds, who was routinly disciplined when he was a soldeir for being a loose cannon, who doesnt know what the internet is or how to use it, who has been caught defrauding his country and has lied about it...blah blah blah...

over a well spoken, honor student ivey league, smart public speaker with better ideas for our country..ha ha ha'

we heard the same shit about Bush over Kerry and look where that got us. Save us the right wing garbage.

the difference is, since world war 2, the us has had no competition as the worlds strongest economy. things are different now, or will be very soon.

Without the US, these countries that everyone says will be the next superpower, are nothing. Imagine if every US based company pulled out of china, india. How would their economies react?

the US companies that are in china aren't there for chinas benefit, they're their to make money. and if they pulled out it wouldn't make much difference at all. china isn't some technologically backward country anymore. infact if the US stopped trading with china now, it would hurt the US more than china as inflation would rise considerably.

Dream on. China is the number one importer to the states. Thats a lot of chinese jobs. The only reason these countries are even in the position they are now is because of all the outsourcing US companies are doing to try and save money. I'm not saying they are technologically backwards, just that most products made there are shipped to North America.

Maybe you could use " exporter " .....

aaron 07-04-2008 12:56 PM

obviously in the long term things will work out, but there could be some hard times ahead for a lot of people

"In the absence of the gold standard, there is no way to protect savings from confiscation through inflation.... This is the shabby secret of the welfare statists' tirades against gold. Deficit spending is simply a scheme for the confiscation of wealth. Gold stands in the way of this insidious process. It stands as a protector of property rights. If one grasps this, one has no difficulty in understanding the statists' antagonism toward the gold standard." -Alan Greenspan 1967

What does the US do that another country can't do better now? Other countries are no longer reliant on the US.

The world won't die even if the USA disappear tomorrow. You may accept it or not, but that's a fact. However personally I'd prefer to have the US economics afloat as long as it possible. Otherwise the adult industry will be ruined w/o American surfers.

As much as I'm not a fan of Bush, the current economic situation is far from his doing. Did he help it? Sure, some. Turn things around and say he would've actively sought to prevent the current situation and all he could've done is postpone it some. The global economic relationships are the primary reasons for the current US economy. The one with China in particular. Start learning Chinese, people.

Absolutely not correct.

You have minimal knowledge if ANY in economics.
USA either big or major player in MANY fields and none interested in it's failure.

I'm sure they are smart enough to get their asses out of financial probs,
sooner or later.
