What do you prefer guys who are practically strangers to call you?

so what will it be bro/dude/man/mang/brah/buddy?

After Shock Media 06-27-2008 08:56 PM

If they do not know my name they are strangers.

I think I will go for stuck up and stick with Sir or Mister.

Spunky 06-27-2008 09:37 PM

I just don't answer when a stranger calls

d-null 06-27-2008 10:06 PM

bro is good if we have done business before

mikeyddddd 06-27-2008 10:07 PM

PlugRush Sascha 06-27-2008 10:07 PM

It better be "sir" regardless of them being strangers! Or else!

CDSmith 06-27-2008 10:09 PM

Where's the "none of the above" option?

Don't know my name? Then sir will do just fine.

spacedog 06-27-2008 10:14 PM

None of the above..

Vexes 06-27-2008 10:14 PM

hombre

seriously

Some Guy 06-27-2008 10:18 PM

I usually don't care what they call me as long as it's not "big guy." I fucking hate when strangers call me that. I was at the store a while back and was at the self-checkout lane. There were a couple of guys behind me and one goes, "You done, big guy?" I hate that shit so much.

SilentKnight 06-27-2008 10:21 PM

I make calls...I don't take calls.

With two teenage daughters in the house - all the calls are for them anyways :1orglaugh

I get that too alot, and I'm not even that big (6'2 200)

I usually get the vibe that it is said out of respect though so it doesn't bother me

baddog 06-27-2008 11:01 PM

My lord. As in, "excuse me, my lord."

XoXo Cash 06-27-2008 11:06 PM

funny how guy's prefer to be called "sir"

but lots of women cringe when being called "ma'am"

Yeah, they usually don't mean any disrespect by it, but sometimes it comes across as a bit condescending. Especially when the person saying it is bigger than you. Which doesn't happen to me often 'cause I'm fairly large, but I'd never say that to one of my smaller friends.

Antonio 06-27-2008 11:28 PM

nigga, if they're kids they should call me Mr Nigga

Some Guy 06-28-2008 02:41 AM

Nowhere did he mention phone calls. Read the question again. He wasn't talking about what strangers call you over the phone.

:1orglaugh

sysk 06-28-2008 02:57 AM

Furious_Male 06-28-2008 09:07 AM

Around here if someone doesn't know your name its pretty common to use "buddy" but in a nice way. "Hey buddy can you quit making out with my girlfriend" etc.

Peaches 06-28-2008 09:08 AM

I don't see "Goddess" listed.

Usually I get the "Ma'm" or "Miss" I don't mind either and it shows class IMO :) At least I hope it does since it's what I always say.....Oh, and men I always call "Sir" no matter what their age unless I'm addressing a formal letter to a child in which case they are Master Firstname Lastname

that's exactly what i was thinking....

If they are complete stranger Sir or Mister does the job, otherwise, I'm fine with simply Michael :)

What if you don't know the child's first name, and his last name is "Bates"?

:D

If someone who can't assault and kill me calls me anything but sir, I curb-stomp them right then and there. That's unacceptable. If you can beat my ass until I'm dead, I might let you slide unless I'm armed.

GetSCORECash 06-28-2008 09:22 AM

My name is on my ICQ. No need to call me anything else.

Are the only "practically strangers" you know/meet on ICQ? Is the guy who's the cashier at the local grocery store going to know your ICQ username? :upsidedow

MaDalton 06-28-2008 09:32 AM
