I had totally forgot about that. Those folks were insane. I remember reading a real long expose on them and all the stuff they pulled. Actually, Dan Rather was going to retire anyway. It had been known for several months that he was going to retire sometime that spring, but there was no set date. Then the Bush story happened, and neo-cons took credit for forcing him into retirement.

It's a risk (albeit a small one) that should be on the minds of voters, but there is a much higher probability of McCain not being able to finish out his term due to health reasons. So either way voters will have to take a closer look than usual at the VP nominee.
