Wow. Single men can be arrested for being at a park where there are children.
 

Not only can they arrest single men at city parks where there are children, but I just saw a reporter running around accosting all the single men, implying they were child rapists. At the end the anchorman was calling on all citizens to call the police if they saw a single man at a park.

I know the children's park at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco has long posted "no adults without the company of a child."

At least they did back in the late 60's, early 70's.

And it does not apply to just single men. All adults.

Sounds like a way to keep trouble causing adults away from kid areas. Probably about adult punks and drug dealers moreso than pedos.

It's the same with little parks in Manhattan that are clearly designed for children/families, and I'm sure in other places too. I'd never seen it before visiting there but it totally makes sense on a number of different levels.

I think this would probably depend on the type park... there are blatant children's parks and there are regular parks that all people like to enjoy.

It does, and when these people have children of their own they will be glad there are such rules.

Fine by me. Maybe there should be a lot more parks like that everywhere, in all major cities.

Maybe a lot less kids getting abducted and ending up on milk cartons if there were.

I'm sure this is only for the kiddy parks, there's certainly plenty of parks that are clearly for little kids and I appreciate a rule like this....

Then there's more teen to adult type parks like baseball diamonds, soccer fields, tennis courts etc that obviously shouldn't have a rule like that.

Those kids you see on milk cartons were abducted by family members and people they knew. Total stranger abductions are extremely rare.

Such a stranger willing to carry out the most taboo crime in all of society isn't going to be stopped by a "no single adults" park rule. If the threat of receiving decades and even life in prison isn't going to stop them, nothing will. Certainly not a metal sign at a park.

My point for those who just don't seem to want to get it is... rules like this are designed to make it just a little bit harder for pedos and would-be child abductors, thus in my view such rules are a good thing.

Honestly why would any single man care. There are better places to hang out than kids' playgrounds.
