That was my favorite superbowl ever. The Pats are fags, their fans are fags, their owner is a fag, and their coach is a scum.

By the way bud, your timing is questionable, lol.

Let me guess...when Belichick was the defensive coordinator for the Giants in the 80s, you loved his defense and loved him......

geez.

DaLord 04-21-2008 03:12 AM

They are still the best and biggest... envy doesn't change that fact.

Totally loved him then, now he is in boston, for a new york fan, boston means death. heating or not, Giants are still the champs, and that never fails to bring me a little happiness.

Being a lifelong Dolphins Fan, this thread brings me alot of joy. I know the Dolphins are the worst but it is beautiful knowing that the Pats are not the best... not that Sunday anyway.

i hate the patriots and i've never cheered for anyone other than the raiders except for that super bowl sunday. after all the smirks and smart ass cocky remarks they had for the media and other teams the entire year. they deserved to get shown up on the biggest stage on the planet.

you put tom brady on his ass once or twice in a game and he doesn't perform. he got sacked once or twice in that game and he was already slamming the football on the ground crying like a 12 year old. i enjoyed every minute of it including the following 4-5 sacks handed to that chump.

My question and your answer already said everything that needed to be said...not ALL of us gloated over the last eight years, we just celebrated after spending 40 years being the joke of the league...most of us congratulated the Giants even though it hurt badly...and even though we hate New York the same way you hate Boston, we can still admit that Joe Torre was a hell of a manager and Derek Jeter is a hall-of-famer. Maybe *that's* the difference between New York and Boston fans.

BTW, how 'bout those Knicks? ;)

Granted, some pats fans such as yourself have been more gracious than most. I think it's the sizeable number of arrogant self-superior braggarts out there that have ruined it for the rest, and is the reason why threads like this exist. Some pats fans talk as if they themselves are somehow superior to other people due to the accomplishments of their city's football team.

No one in their right mind would deny the pats are a formidable force in the league in the last 8 years, but it's just human nature to cheer for their misfortune in light of all the arrogant gloating that's gone on.

Exactly.
Obviously it was a big game and Giants were the underdog. But did you hear the patriots before the game talking that much shit? Brady even gave a score prediction of "how much he was going to win by"

No, I didn't hear any of that - I remember a team that, as always, spoke the company line basically saying "We're not concerned with 18-0, we haven't accomplished our goal yet."
I do remember Brady, when asked how much they would win by, said they'd LIKE to win by more than they did in the regular season game - meaning they'd like it not to be as close - which seems a reasonable answer to me to a question that shouldn't have been asked. I doubt that Manning or anyone else would have said that they'd like to lose the game.

I may be wrong, but I think the "arrogant gloating" comes from basically the same type of people who also spend their time gloating about how much pussy they've gotten this week, how much money they make, and how good they are at SEO.

Most Pats fans in the real world weren't full of "arrogant gloating" - they were quietly worrying about whether Brady really *was* hurt (he obviously was) and whether the aging Pats defense would be able to stay on its feet for one more game (for the most part they were, until the miracle play at the end).

notoldschool 04-22-2008 04:22 PM

Im not a Patriots fan but...

They got more rings than any other football team in the last ten years.
EVERY team uses tapes of other teams - haters who know nothing should post nothing.
Tom Brady gets the finest pussy in the world no matter what his record at the end of last year was.
NY Giants will suck next year and Manning is a FAG.
18-1 changes nothing above.

I dont know what you are talking about.. i saw patriots people saying they will kill the giants they are the best team in NFL history blah blah..

Tom Brady was obviously hurt.. yeah thats what happens when your ass gets sacked. He should have spent more time on the field and less time with his girlfriend.. Did they ever show proof he was hurt before the game?

Patriots "people?" What does that mean, people on this board? You claim Brady and the Patriots bragged before the game...where are the links to all that bragging you imagined?

No - and they never do, and never will...and if you were a true fan who followed sports and not just a homer braggart, you'd know that the Pats don't talk about injuries after the fact either - the only way people find out if Patriots players even have had surgery is if it gets leaked. If you understand football and have watched Brady throughout his career, and watched him that day, it's pretty clear he was hurt.

It's also pretty clear that unlike most teams, the Patriots don't use injuries as an excuse for their losses, in the same way they never mentioned that in their AFC loss to the Colts last year, almost half the team was behind the bench between series throwing up because of a stomach flu they had - the only way people know that is because it was reported by outside sources, the team never said a word. They lost, they didn't make excuses, they just moved on..something that some "fans" of some teams are unable to do, win or lose.

Show me the "ha-ha, your team sucks" posts that Pats fans (real fans, not the people who talk shit about anything they can find) made about the Rams, the Titans or the Eagles after their Super Bowl wins.

Sounds like you are using his injury as an excuse thought doesnt it?

No, trying to understand someone's sub-par performance is not an excuse OR being a sore loser. It's being a SPORTS fan and not being a mouthy homer.
It's the same thing that happened after the Pats beat the Chargers in the AFC championship game - I recognized that it would have been a different game if LT, Gates and Rivers hadn't been hurt, and that we might not have won - even though I was glad we did. And I didn't taunt the Chargers fans (even though I live in San Diego and had ample opportunity to do so. - that's not the way that SPORTS fans react.

Glad you're entertained. I congratulated the Giants fans here and elsewhere after the Giants won - and I didn't say "we would have won if...." I was just trying to explain the difference between teams (and their fans) that make brag and excuses, and teams that don't. Despite your claims that you can't back up, the Pats were NOT bragging beforehand, and they didn't make excuses afterward. Even if Brady was playing with a broken leg and severe brain damage during the game, you never would have heard about it from the Pats.

If you don't get it - there's no sense in my trying to explain it anymore. I was quietly thrilled and proud of my team after they won their Super Bowls - some people just don't have the class to act that way. <shrug>

I'm done here.

That's why I made the distinction earlier about people posting on this and other boards, who are also obnoxious about the girls they bang and the money they (allegedly) make. I've been talking about *real* fans, not classless ones.

I lived in New England almost all of my life - I suffered through more crap almost than any team's fans can imagine because of the joke that the franchise was for most of its existence. I had season's tickets and was at Patriots games during the darkest days. And I probably know more Pats fans than anyone on this board.

And every *real* Pats fan I know (not the bandwagon jumpers and not the bigmouths who also brag about the size of their dick) did two things after the game. They congratulated the Giants fans they knew - and they tried not to even think about, let alone talk about the game, for weeks. We were all so devastated that we didn't want to talk about it...we congratulated the Giants fans and let the subject drop. And the *real* Giants fans (and there are still lots of them in New England, because before the Pats came into existence, the Giants were New England's "home" team) did two things after the game, they celebrated and accepted the congratulations they received - and they realized that while their team played a great game against a great team, and was the better team that day, they were fortunate to win on perhaps the greatest single catch in the history of the Super Bowl.

I'll say it again and then I'm done - congratulations to the Giants. They won the Super Bowl because they deserved to win it and the Patriots didn't. The Giants made the play they had to and the Pats didn't. There are jerks on both sides, and because they're vocal about it, they're often viewed as the "representatives" of their team's fans. They're not.

End of story.
