who pioneered reality porn?

i am confused about the origins of reality porn.

who pioneered it? i am confused. i was sure it was seymore butts and then shane from shanes world with seymore.

chri$tian 04-16-2008 01:06 PM

I would say seymore too, he definitely was the first i can remember to think outside that box (get it, BOX, lol) hehe

quesadilla 04-16-2008 01:07 PM

half the sites called reality are not in fact reality. they are gonzo. setups with fucking. not reality. maybe that is why i'm confused.

fris 04-16-2008 01:09 PM

Bangbus had a big say

quesadilla 04-16-2008 01:09 PM

Half? Did you say half? Seriously, half?

Socks 04-16-2008 01:09 PM

To me, the first real reality site was RealButts. It was the first place to get large episode style scenes as full length videos, and they pretty much introduced the Sybian to the world. Then it all went from there, I think their next venture at that point was Boob Squad.

Jamie Gillis - On the Prowl - is widely considered the beginning of the reality genre (at least away from this forum). It was the influence for much of what followed, like Little Richard influenced Elvis.

See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jamie_Gillis

Martin 04-16-2008 01:13 PM

BangBus was the first popular reality site. That got the ball rolling for sure.

quesadilla 04-16-2008 01:18 PM

reality porn. not reality websites.

reality porn is where the reality websites of today got their ideas, but just didn't do them exactly right to reality standards.

bangbus is the best reality site, yes.

jakethedog 04-16-2008 01:19 PM

BWHAHAHAHA... you guys are all to young ...
"Steve Sweet" pioneered it with sweetloads and then sweet auditions .. everything I can think of since has been a copy in someway or another .. so in an essence me .. lol.. for being his executive producer for 9 years ..

quesadilla 04-16-2008 01:28 PM

steve sweet was a POV pioneer. more proof that people don't know what reality porn is.

what is reality about a guy pissing on a girls face?

thats a gonzo microniche.

Not so fast... What Ed Powers was doing in the late '80's with his Bus Stop Tales and Dirty Debutantes series was reality porn. And Mitch Spinelli did a series of movies in the early/mid 80's called Reel People. And I bet there were producers even before that doing what could be called reality porn. It didn't all begin with BangBus or Steve Sweet.

Net Video Girls made some waves back in the early net days...

J. Falcon 04-16-2008 01:37 PM

One of the first and absolute best ever adult reality sites was BackroomFacials.com

Never seen "audition" porn done that well ever again. Spawned countless cheap imitations.

That is 100% correct!

He went to adult bookstores with whores and got normal, real, customers to fuck them.
It was one of my favorite series ever.

tony286 04-16-2008 02:08 PM

Dirty Debutantes

Snake Doctor 04-16-2008 02:08 PM

Ed Powers.

Back when all porn video was on VHS (or filmstrip).

The Sweet's got the idea for Sweet Auditions from our PornAudition.com website that Dugmor ran from our downtown studios.

But for the first reality, you also have to think of the original Homegrown Video series from over 20 years ago. Next to that, I would also say Ed Powers for video.

You can't forget Al Goldstein and Screw magazine from back in the 1970's. He had that along with his cable access TV show that was all crazy reality ;)

You just reminded me about Ugly George, who prowled the streets of New York in the late 70's and early 80's trying to get girls to show some flesh, and even suck and fuck him. I'd see him sometimes at lunchtimes on 57th Street and 7th Avenue when I worked near Central Park in 1982/3. His footage was shown on some late night cable show.

jigga 04-16-2008 03:17 PM

the first one that I saw online I believe was called "california pimp".

Bang Bus took it to a new level and made it mainstream online with oxcash and nastydollars (milf hunter).

quesadilla 04-16-2008 03:57 PM

oh jesus, i give up. let this thread die.

Oh i remember ole' Ed and his ventures .. but Eds models with Dirty Debutantes were actual adult film models who had done other productions in the past .. and were breaking into the biz with a few films/videos under their belts ..
I was personally there when 99% of the models that walked through the door went directly to Steve's office and were "interviewed" and absolutely no shitting anyone... there were woman who answered our ads with 100% the wrong idea of what we were doing that still stayed and did the scene .. I am not proud of it .. but he had a "unique" ability in which he would walk up to a girl on the street and in 2 hours she was in the office .. never in her life thinking she would be involved in an adult production .. ALL reactions and dialogs between Steve and the females are 100% genuine and albeit shocking and raw .. they are 100% real ....

Steve actually had "sweetloads" which was before porn auditions and was distributed on VHS very possibly where porn auditions came from sweetauditions (which i performed in dozens and dozens of time by the way) was the same as sweetloads .... Hell I will message Dugmor tonight and ask .. lol

as for homegrown and the others mentioned .. all are/were awesome content and instrumental in porn going to the net .. I am more talking about the way people are suggesting bangbus and these type reality sites started ..

crockett 04-16-2008 04:54 PM

Bangbus on the web, but in reality haven't there almost always been "reality" type porn? i mean how many fake plumers, pizza guys or mail men were in porn flicks long before the web. Wouldn't you have to kinda say that stuff was reality porn but it just didn't have a name?

Fap 04-16-2008 04:59 PM

I think it might have been me.

I beg to differ: Ed's thing was he got girls' first scenes, and he paid agents extra to get those first scenes--I know this because I share an office with an agent who did a lot of business with Ed. A lot of those girls did very little more porn work because Ed would tell them horror stories about other directors (think Max Hardcore). Of course, some girls went on to be pretty big... think Krysti Myst or Katie Morgan to name just two.

And I'm not dissing Steve Sweet here, I LOVED the SweetLoads series and website, and thought he was awesome. Whatever happened to him? Is he still out terrorizing unsuspecting young women? Or did he get married and move the the suburbs?

On reflection, I'm not sure if it's really fair to compare Steve Sweet to Ed Powers as their products were so different. But I think it would be fair to put both of them in the reality porn category.

We used to have a partnership with Trans-Video here in Montreal, and they had the rights to all the original STP (pre-Sweet Entertainment) videos back when they were first released.

The PornAudition idea came from my own website as I did Auditions with fans (the Casting Couch section) starting in 1995. I didn't have a members area at that time and used the free area of my website to sell the videos we produced. All main order and extremely lucrative. When Dugmor came on board back in 1999, we started the separate PornAudition.com website.

Back in 1995 and 1996 there were a bunch of websites doing similar things, and all for fun and free, or to sell VHS copies of the content. Many of the first Amateur websites were just Reality Porn sites that people did just for fun.
