i put my vote in to rick roll the mets a while back, i never thought they would get 5 million fucking votes though.

Enough people liked it back in the day to make it #1 in a variety of countries. I wouldn't buy it these days but it clearly did well enough. I think he has a good voice but he was part of the cheese machine which was Stock Aitken Waterman at the time. Same guys behind Bananarama and Kylie Minogue to name but a very few. You can tell one of their songs as soon as it starts no matter who is singing it. Total and utter cheese but they wrote and produced some of the highest selling songs over the decade and it is hard not to admire finding a formula and milking it for all the money possible.

What we have now is millions of people sitting on the internet going "jesus fuck! i clicked another fucking rock roll!" i was commenting on how that old fart in the interview was going on about how rick astley is recapturing the hearts of people with a great song. no, he is not recapturing anyones heart. its simply a bunch of people thinking "damn this song sucks, it will be funny if i trick a bunch of people into watching the video, AGAIN"
