Look at the Toy I Got My Fiancee [Pics]
It's called a puzzle ring. There's a guy up in Berkeley that makes them.

The stone is a Tsavorite Garnet.
I originally wanted to get her an emerald (the ancient stone of enduring love), but after learning that they break very easily, I looked for other options... green tourmaline, aquamarine (her birthstone)... but when I consulted the artist, he offered that the green garnet looked very similar to an emerald and was a whole lot more sturdy... so, after a bit more research - and considering that _my_ birthstone was a garnet, I went with that. The artist's name is Norman Greene... his website is normangreene.com. Just gave it to her an hour ago. She loves it. :) |
Very nice. She will love it.
Now go get your nails done. |
cute ring

lucky her ....one more thing on my wish list..... :) |
They didn't have stones in them (that I knew of) but puzzle rings were VERY popular when I was in HS back in the 70's. I had several and I think I still have one somewhere. As they say, what was popular before will eventually become popular again :) Beautiful ring!

Yah that was cool but I already saw a 8 puzzle ring :):):)

i heard in PI there are lots of those... even in streets but that better coz its 14k... lol |
Hold the presses.
The stone has a chip on it. :( My gal thought it felt a little rough, but I wasn't able to tell for certain until I took the objective lense from my telescope, inverted it, and took a look at the stone under magnification... and it's definitely got a chip on one of the corners. Hopefully, the artist will be receptive to working it out... guess I'll know one way or the other by at least Monday, as his workshop's only open Mon - Thurs. |
Thats cool!
