Honestly She just got out of hospital, she drives a sports car and people are jumping out of all sides, IN traffic like this.

Why isn't there a law to prevent this???

Oh yeah guess it will take someone to get seriously hurt for them to consider doing something. :Oh crap

tony286 02-06-2008 04:50 PM

Your right its very sad. The girl is having a really rough time show some class and give her a break but they wont do that.

Elli 02-06-2008 04:50 PM

That's awful. :( Give her some space, geez.

cool1 02-06-2008 04:57 PM

Yeah, this is purely an American thing. Remember when Princess Di was killed being pursued by paparazzi leaving a party in LA...wait. That wasn't LA, was it? :winkwink:

Ugh I love it when people read and interpret how they choose. He simply said he was happy he is in CANADA. I don't think he said one single fucking word about the US.

Doctor Dre 02-06-2008 05:21 PM

We actually have laws preventing this in Canada, there are no paparazis.

And when there are some breaking it, the public are defending the stars. Montreal is a lovely place for stars.

Well, let's hope they all get killed before the law goes into effect. :winkwink:

The funny thing is.. here you are posting links to it. In a weird kinda way we're driving society to want to view more of this shit. We all think Britney is fucked up, but there's already a few posts about her on GFY, just since she was released.

We NEED those paparazzi's. We need to get our fix and we don't care who it is, as long as they are fucked up then we'll keep buying into it.

YAY for fucked up celebs. And ESPECIALLY YAY for the paparazzi, because like them or not, you keep them fed.:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup

Me too.

I was simply stating that this shit happens all over the world. Being in Canada doesn't preclude them from having a media frenzy as well. Although I am having a hard time remembering when anything even remotely newsworthy came out of Canuckistan.

Celine Dion.

Wow, you can keep her up there. :repuke

If I were a parazzi and Celine Dion was in town, I'd quit and go work as a suicide victim.

AZSarah 02-06-2008 05:31 PM

It's so sad and almost surreal how out of hand the situation is.

Alright, I had to look it up. This is what I found:

http://www.privacylawyer.ca/blog/200...snap-back.html

"Today's Globe & Mail, just in time for the film festival in Toronto, is running an article on paparazzi. The writer contacted me a little while ago and paraphrases my comments about halfway down the article:

The Globe and Mail: The paparazzi snap back:

"... David Fraser, a privacy lawyer with the firm McInnes Cooper, believes that's because the Canadian media are just a whole lot kinder. At the same time, federal privacy laws specifically exclude journalists and protect freedom of the press, he says. Celebrities who run into problems with paparazzi must turn to trespassing and stalking laws, which may keep the rare pushy snappers at bay...."

I would add that some provinces have a statutory tort of invasion of privacy and the non-statutory tort is evolving in Canada. Even for journalistic purposes, invasions of privacy that are "undue" and "unreasonable" can be condemned by the courts in the form of money damages or an injunction. There just hasn't been a lot of cause in Canada for celebrities to invoke these laws. "

Stay on topic. You've proven twice in this thread alone you can't. If you're not sure what to say, say nothing.

Fat Panda 02-06-2008 05:57 PM

I thought she was going to be in the hospital for like 3 weeks

LiveDose 02-06-2008 06:02 PM

How did Canada get mixed up in this topic? Oh, right everything bad happens in the USA...lol

pornask 02-06-2008 06:05 PM

wow, just wow

kektex 02-06-2008 06:12 PM

Damn, no wonder she's going crazy.
I think we are going to have to take bets on how long before she takes a gun and kills one of those fuckers.

I don't think he was trying to bash the US... but people in the US do have a weird obsession with celebrities that you won't find anywhere else in the world :2 cents:

Those paparazzi are like vultures, someone should run over those idiots.

Yeah and it taught them a lesson. Is death what needs to happen before american paparazzi slack off.

Seriously you'd think people would learn from the past.

Actually redShoe, there's nothing positive in the way I bring to scums up. Only reason I posted it is I just got disgusted by the way these fucktards are acting up in traffic.

Not only dangerous for them or the star they are stalking but there's innocent people all around.

I bet you wouldn't say the same thing if someone you knew got hurt in this kind of scenario.

sicone 02-06-2008 08:33 PM

Damn.. the way they blocked her car in and swarmed her was vicious. Some fucked off shit.

Pipecrew 02-06-2008 10:06 PM

The problem is how much they pay the paparazzi for the right shot, these guys dont care if they get hit by a car, they will be fine and go get 100k for the "right" pic.

2MuchMark 02-06-2008 10:22 PM

That poor kid is going to kill herself. How can anybody live with those vultures around her all the time?

Has anyone seen the show, TMZ? It's fucking rotten. Nothing but low-lifes proud as shit because they caught a STAR being HUMAN. Really pathetic.

The paparazzi are going to be the cause of Britney's life...

Mutt 02-06-2008 10:54 PM

the U.S. and England are sick when it comes to their obsession with celebrities.

BOSS1 02-06-2008 10:59 PM

god bless canada

Darth_Porn 02-06-2008 11:03 PM

The reason that these idiots can get away with shit like this is because they are protected by "Freedom of the press" bullshit.
Constitutional rights and shit ... "The public deserves to know" and other crap like that.

These guys aren't the press ... the fucking New York Times is what i consider press .. these guys are just loosers.

Can't people in the justice system see how wrong this is and just order them to stop it?

Christina Muller 02-06-2008 11:04 PM

I look at some of these posts and laugh!!!.

Most of all this publicity is pre-planned but some dont seem to get the deal!

TMZ and many other photo guys get tips from sources ususally the artists promoters.

Im wrong you might say?

Listen!!!!! everyone and his mom and dog are trying to get Michael Jackson pics for the last 6 months ? Have you seen any ? NO

If you want to keep a low profile its not that difficult.

Disagree? show me lots of MJ pics from the :thumbsup last 6 months

rayadp05 02-06-2008 11:50 PM

It's all about bringing in the almighty $$$$. They don't give a shit about her as far as being a person. Hell, it would be a wet dream of one of those guys to take pictures of her dying on the street from a drug overdose or some shit.

Christina Muller 02-06-2008 11:52 PM

Thank you Jean-Francois for the kind comment :)

Are you in Montreal? or near as I have a great webmaster event taking place in march :winkwink:
