I have to say in 11 years of being in the porn business, that duke dollars banner at the top of GFY, when you just happen to accidently mouse over it, is possibly (and probably) the most annoying thing I have ever had to put up with

I got caught like 5 times tonight while surfing GFY

Duke Dollars guys - take off the damn sound on mouseover, you are doing yourselves 0 favours, potential affiliates will only despise you !!

we just had a contest to have the banner removed. we had enough haters sign up as affiliates and sent sales that we are changing as per the teleology of the contest. A new one is being made and it will be up in a few days. bu seriously, are you a bit touched?

yea, for sure there are those who do not like it, and there are those who love it. The idea of the banner and therefore the contest name "third stage," the contest to have it removed is the thrid stage of the marketing concept. (but you dont seem to realize that yet).
1st stage: To maximize my banners awareness in a sea of other banners thus making my advertising much more profitable
2nd stage: To brand my name along with the program and make something that everyone can remember. and you can see by how many quote it, or even say it when walking past me at conventions etc goes to show it really does stick in your head.
3rd stage: purposely to wear out its welcome, become old if you will, and thus having a contest to get the people who SWORE up and down they would never promote me because of it, have the oppurtunity to take matters into their own hands, join DUKE DOLLARS and send traffic to have it removed. (all part of the contest). In keeping my word, and due to the fact that many guys did join up from the contest, I will keep my word and change the banner. It was win win for those who did not like it and ourselves: now we have an open dialouge with these new affiliates, and also found out that alot arent even webmasters, but trolls. Albeit, there were a decent amount who really have traffic. traffic of which now they and we are mutually benefiting from. So if you still think this was a dumb idea you clearly dont know me or the tricks i have up my sleave. NOTHING I do or say isnt thought out 15 moves ahead. So is it possible, just for a second, that you may have overlooked the "big picture" and just got caught up in the infantile fury of a little noise? or maybe i know what im doing...

It's because you don't get it: part of the marketing scheme is to annoy the living hell out of people and get them talking about Duke Dollars, even though just about every webmaster on this board has said repeatedly that they refuse to promote DD due to that shitty banner. :pimp

Agreed. They have been running that ad for years, it's been complained abut many times. They clearly don't care.

Personally, I like Duke but that banner alone would cause me to suggest others not do business with him. Telling me to turn off my speakers when I am online is fucking stupid. Either you care about others or you don't. Duke does not.

I'm sure they don't care as I'm no big dog by any means, but I put myself on that list ages ago, and I'm staying there...

it doesnt matter if you send 1 sale a year or 50 a day. dont think like that. as i stated before, we had a contest, gave away a few ipods, 3 grand in the thread, and 200 pps. in the contest we said that we would pull it down after its over. a new banner is being made as we speak and should be up in a few days.
