I predict Wand by submission (that's not even a joke, I think lidell will rock him, go for the kill and get subbed)

My reasons :
Axe smashes ice (Wand is called the Axe Murderer and Chuck the Iceman)
Bath in icy water (Chuck is called the Iceman and Wand baths in icy water as part of his training)

Unless chuck takes an axe bath tonite, he's done.

Nice pics. Liddell is gonna get all he can handle. I think its whoever gets one on the button. Liddell with an over hand right is likely considering their styles.

Yeppers, I say 60/40 for Lidell in standup.

However, Wand is used to getting rocked and recovers quickly.... that's why I figured out he might sub him when Lidell goes for the kill ;)

I think they're both too far past their prime for anyone to care. This fight would have been gr8 a few years ago. Chuck keeps getting his ass beat and Silva hasn't fought in how long...damn i cant even remember. I consider this to be 2 cans going at it for no reason and nothing to gain. I pick Silva by either KO or decision...just my 2 cents.

Once again on GFY someone, way overstating a case and undermining any small point they had by exaggeration. Wanderlei is only 31 years old. His last wins were in 2006 and 2005, and his two most recent losses were to Dan Henderson and CroCop, not some chumps. Did you see the UFC All Access with Silva training in a oxygen deprivation mask and sparring with no head gear? He looks pretty serious- moved to Las Vegas with his whole family and a training staff that lives with him 24/7. I think he is for real and he has a chance to not only beat Chuck, but take the UFC light heavyweight belt from Rampage who he has beaten twice in Pride already.

What did i exaggerate? Training methods dont win fights. Anyone who knows MMA knows this fight means nothing. It gets americans blood flowing but other than that...silva beating chuck means nothing, chuck beating sivla means nothing.:2 cents:

Silva beating Chuck means he's next in line after Griffen for Contention.

Chuck beating Silva means he's back in contention, and might get a shot after a couple fights.

Training methods win fights... Look at GSP. This fight means that the two of the 5 fighters with the best highlight reels are fighting agaisn't each other. The two guys that dominated their era are fighting together. That means something.

Almost like Ali Vs Tyson both fighting after their prime... but Wand's prime might not be over, he's only 31.

Sure, but what im saying is this fight is way past due. It would have had more meaning years ago. 2 'used to be good fighters' on losing streaks trying to get back to the top. If Silva beats chucky, is that a gr8 accomplishment? If chucky boy beats silva...is that anything special? Im still a silva fan and i am excited to see him fight but i just dont see how him beating chuck makes him all of a sudden something better than what he already is. Yes, it would have been a lot bigger fight a year ago, when Lidell had his title and Wand got beaten by a 185er.

But if you look at wand's two loses... He lost agaisn't one of the top 2 heavyweight, and the #1 p4p at the time...

Lidell lost agaisn't Rampage (bad styles matchup) and Jardine (past his prime I guesS).

If Wand wins this fight, I see him having a title fight in the next year and maybe winning it.

Not so sure about Chuck.

no one wants to see rampage vs. chuck rematch...the same exact thing would happen again. Chuck fights good fighters and loses. i cant argue that beating randy was gr8, but imagine that loser stepping foot into pride while he was running UFC...LOL@ that. He cant compete with top fighers. Chuck sucks and always has been overrated. Randleman wasnt out, he eye gouged tito and several others...i could go on and on but ill end up saying something crazy.

He always had good styles matchups for him. He's very brandable and I figure Joe Silva got told to keep him there.

Wand matches good with him as well, he might pull this one up but he'll never be #1 again as long as rampage is in the picture.

But as far as Wand, there is a possibility that he might get the belt.

Yea you're right. I keep speaking from a long time MMA fan's prospective. Me saying no one wants to see it wasnt too accurate now that i think of it. I'm sure UFC fans are really dying to see it but its just because they really dont know what they're talking about. They still sit around and drink beer while talking about how good tank abbott was. This fight will be good for the UFC and this event has a great card but i just cant respect the commercialization of MMA. But hey, $$$$ talks and UFC is growing more and more and making more and more. :2 cents:

It was so painfull to listen to the people next to us at the bar last time telling each other how Jardine looked like a bad dude and that he would win and how Griffen was a TUF badass and he would kick this nowhere's ass.

Rampage has already smashed Liddell up not once but 2x, 2x, 2x. So even if he beats silva i dont see how that puts him back in contention for the title. He would just get his ass handed to him again. At least silva can say he's beat jackson before but that was a longggg time ago and jackson has turned into a monster since then. Silva hasnt won a fight in years and the last person he can say he beat is fucking fujita. Henderson raped silva, jackson raped henderson. No ones gonna take the belt from jackson for a while. Chute box went to hell and so did silvas training. Sure he is doing some hi tech "looks cool" training but when you have no one to train with, all that shit means nothing when you step into the ring. It doesnt matter how in shape you are if you cant fight. Luckily for silva he's fighting a loser. I dont see him going anywhere after winning this fight.

Now that he's there, the whole team Thompkins trains there too (Rashad Evans, Jardine, GSP, Stout, Homminick)

Chuck looked very trim and perhaps a bit tense at the weigh-in. Wandy looks more than ready. I think he'd fight Chuck in the parking lot if the UFC told him that's where it's going down. I've always had doubts about Chucks chin, and his last two fights are evidence that he can throw, but maybe not take a shot.

Wandy by KO. It will go a little longer than the 'Page fight did, but I see it ending the same way. Only much more brutally.

It's fucking hard to make a prediction on this fight seriously...
I've made the sub prediction... even thought it's halfway a joke, it could really happen.

They are close to be evenly matched with their respective style.

Another thing that could happen in theory, although far-fetched, is the fight ending in a DQ. Let's say Wandy drops Chuck with a punch, then follows up with a stomp... to the head. Instant DQ by UFC rules. Hope Wandy doesn't forget what organization he's in.
