What's your favorite heavy metal song?
I know it's hard to pick just one, but I was watching a thing about heavy metal not to long ago and heard this song so for right now at least it's my favorite.
Psycho Holiday - Pantera |
To Live Is to Die
|
Slayer - Exile
|
Master Of Puppets
|
SLAYER - "Angel Of Death"
|
I've been listening to metal since the early 80s, so it's hard to narrow down a favorite as there's so many great tunes.
Right now I'm loving this one. The End of The World by God Forbid. https://youtube.com/watch?v=0273mpIw6F4 |
Pretty much too many,
If I would take Pantera, among many great songs I sure like "This Love" Random shots from All Time - Old School - Crazy Train, Mr. Crowley - Ozzy with Randy Rhoads From the New Wave of British Heavy Metal "Number of the beast" "Wasted Years" or "Run to the hills" from Iron Maiden would sure be high on the list As well as "The Number of the Beast" would probably be killing the contest as a record "Freewheel Burning" "Jawbreaker"or "Painkiller" from Judas ain't that bad too as highlights Can't forget such classics as "Ace of Spades" from Mötorhead Dio - "Caught in the middle" "Don't talk to Strangers" "Fever dreams" I sure am a fan From what I heard recently - Halford solo didn't do bad stuff and things like "Slow Down", "Silent screams" or "Crucible" are actually quite cool ANYWAY: If I should name my all time heavy metal song, that would be most probably: Black Sabbath - Symptom of the universe :winkwink: |
Guess I'd have to say Ozzy's Crazy Train and the whole Blizzard of Oz album really.. if we're calling that Metal.
Been working on playing it myself off and on: http://soundclick.com/share?songid=6054371 |
I liked Crazy Train a lot. However I hung out at the local pool halls where it was standard fare to hear it at least 5 times a night. I got a little burnt out on it after a few years. But I think it's been long enough it may well be time to add it to the ol' playlist.

Many great ones to choose from.
By era: Black Sabbath-Iron Man Deep Purple-Smoke On the Water Ozzy-Flying High Again Metallica-Seek and Destroy Anthrax-Any song, pretty much Faith No More-Epic White Zombie-Thunder Kiss '65 POD-Youth Of A Nation Tool-Schism Godsmack-Voodoo I am sure there are more, and some would debate the viability of the term "metal" for some groups, but they all came from the same origins. |
One more.
Stabbing Westward-Save Yourself If you are a fan of the genre and don't know this song, do yourself a favor and listen to it. It is phenomenal. So much angst for one song. |

My favorite heavy metal song was
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister http://i274.photobucket.com/albums/j...tf_thinkin.gif |
Shout At The Devil (motley Crue)was heavy metal back in 1983. Otherwise, it has to be Slayer's Seasons In The Abyss.
