moving water cannot freeze. this was on one of the urban legend sites too, still very cool though.

That's a bunch of bullcrap. Moving water CAN freeze as long as is freezes long and hard enough and the speed isn't too high.
Same goes for salt water.

Waves have to high a speed to freeze while rivers might freeze.
