iFriends/Clickcash SCAM

i've been promoting iFriends for about seven years now. i use to do really good on there but over the past years my sign ups have dwindled down to maybe one or two sign ups a week, if i'm lucky.

so the other day i asked my friend to sign up. he said that iFriends said that his credit card was invalid, which i had heard a LOT over the years. the next day he got an email from iFriends saying that the problem was fixed now and for him to sign up again. it all looked good enough until i just happened to look and see what the link was taking him back to iFriends. i wanted to make sure that it was my clickcash account in the code so that i would get credit for the referral. well, instead of my clickcash account code there was another one in it's place.

this is what the email said..

with the referral account 'surecover' instead of my clickcash account

Did your friend try to upgrade and you not get credit for it?

I'm not trying to defend ifriends, I don't know any of them personally, just curious because I can't imagine any program would turn away a sale and risk losing the transaction permanently just to short their affiliates.

I'm thinking maybe they use cookies and your comissions would not be effected. Just my thoughts.

myboringlife 11-20-2007 11:42 AM

he was trying to sign up to become a member and was told his card was invalid. the next day he got the email with the links using their own account instead of mine. i've always heard people saying in the free chat that ifriends said their card was 'invalid' and they were declined. now i see that magically the next day the problems are all solved and for the people to come back and sign up again.. using ifriends own referral code instead of mine.

and no, i didn't get credit for it.

So he did upgrade / pay then and you didn't get paid?

myboringlife 11-20-2007 11:48 AM

it's free. clickcash pays for free sign ups.

When you talk to the reps you might want to suggest when they store the partial registrastion (grab the email address / etc) they add a field to their database that would also store the AFL ID- this way their user record is tied to your account so you always get credit. :2 cents:

myboringlife 11-20-2007 12:06 PM

i would imagine since they've been in the business for over 10 years and make over a million dollars a day they would already understand that?

SmokeyTheBear 11-20-2007 12:14 PM

ouch thats pretty sneaky..

because i don't know them well i can't say this is a strategy to skim you out of your sale , it looks to me more like a hard scrub and they didn't take time to correlate scrubs that get reaccepted with the original affiliate.

like in laymans terms , the surfer tries to signup , the merchant account they were using for some reason didnt like your friends credit card ( this can happen for lots of reasons ), so the email is to switch to a diff merchant account.

ShellyCrash 11-20-2007 12:15 PM

It's just my 2 cents. I've really got no idea what happened, just saying it doesn't make sense to potentially throw a lead / customer away to cheat webmasters.

myboringlife 11-20-2007 12:19 PM

oh yeah, that does make sense. i've always had guys in other countries say that their card was invalid. so that's what it must be. but what pisses me off is that my username is not in the link code.

there is no excuse for my username to not be in the code. they have been around long enough and have enough money to afford the best of anything. so for them to not have my un in the sign up link is nothing but shady to me.

i can't imagine how many thousands of dollars i have 'LOST' because of this.

papill0n 11-20-2007 01:54 PM

send an email to stacey at clickcash dot com and see what she says.

scottybuzz 11-20-2007 01:57 PM

*sorry edit out

gornyhuy 11-20-2007 01:59 PM

I never beat clickcash on cam/dating payouts. They always ruled my seo traffic.

WiredGuy 11-20-2007 02:39 PM

That's pretty sneaky. Who sent the first email, was it clickcash to the surfer when the CC was declined or did the surfer send it to CC? I'd understand if its the latter, but if its the former, that's really a sneaky way to shave joins.

myboringlife 11-20-2007 03:23 PM

i did email stacy a few days ago but i haven't gotten a reply. i included the entire email with the 'surecover' link.

surecover?!

and my friend never emailed them. they emailed him the next day, out of the blue, saying that whatever the problem was then, it was all fixed now and he was welcome to sign up again and gave their 'surecover' affiliate link in html which only showed up as an 'ifriends.net' text link.

i wonder who is the affiliate for 'surecover' and who is getting paid for that sign up?

where the hell is my username in the link? the odds of you ever knowing or finding out about something like that are really low to none. most ifriends cam girls don't get clickcash sign ups (cause most of their traffic comes internally from ifriends) and most affiliates never talk to their sign ups. i've had tons of people in my free chat tell me that their credit card wasn't 'valid', when they knew it was valid. but of course i never talked to them again and just by randomness my friend sent me this email.

so the chances of something like this ever being discovered by a clickcash affiliate are next to none.

how often do you ever talk to a sign up?

xsabn 11-20-2007 03:28 PM

i still do no know why you are still with ifriends... there are so many great sponsors

It's not free. If you don't spend any money on their site within a week or so, they will charge you $6. At least, that's how it was about a year ago. I seriously doubt they changed it though.

If you are looking for reputable cams sponsors, the ones listed in my sig are top-notch.

moocash is by far, no question, my best sponsor
i've tried awe and did horrible.. i dont like the whole 14 day cookie thing, if i get a customer, i want them to be mine for life
i've promotee ifriends/clickcash for SO long but my sign ups arent 70 a week like they use to be
i've tried cams.com, webcams.com and others but can't get they same performance as i can with moocash

imlive.com just (out of nowhere) dumped me from their current promotion because my traffic wasn't holding as good as their normal traffic
i am SO glad i didn't saturate my sites with imlive.com like i have with moocash because they really screwed me over, imo
no advance warning, just a random email letting me know i wont be getting paid $125 per sign up anymore with the current promotion, because of the performance of my sign ups
i never remember reading that in the fine print anywhere

so anyway.. nothing performs for me as good as moocash does

~Ray 11-20-2007 03:54 PM

maybe try camspot.com - gfy member - tical

ifriends actually charges you $1 to verify your card and will refund you if you ask them. the $6 is for an upgraded VIP membership but your sign ups dont have to pay that to get paid for their sign up.

i dont like camsense because of the way their rev share is tiered.

who 11-20-2007 03:57 PM

I've always held that clickcash are scammers. They can afford to be.

I spoke with one of their reps on the phone about this. They told me exactly what I mentioned above.

well it should be pretty obvious that the "surecover" affiliate link is a in house link.

pocketkangaroo 11-20-2007 04:48 PM

If they are trying to do this as some kind of scam, I hate to say but it's completely retarded. The surfer has his dick in one hand and credit card in the other, why would you deny his credit card and take the chance that he will spend his money elsewhere? These guys have been in business too long to be pulling stunts like this over a measely 40 bucks.

Ifriends make the majority of their cash in monthly memberships and fanclubs.. it is no longer a cash cow for live chat sales.

Shady whatever the excuse is...

Kevsh 11-20-2007 08:26 PM

That certainly doesn't sound right, so I'd be interested in hearing what their response is to your complaint.

myboringlife 11-20-2007 10:18 PM

yeah, me too. there really isn't any excuse for it and it's probably happened way more times then i will ever know about. it really pisses me off considering i have sent them tens of thousands of sign ups. i dont understand why companies that make so much money have to be so lame.

i will respond when/if i get a reply.

If your traffic has always converted well with the ifriends free signup, have you tried Mtree's free cam program, as they pay the exact same as Clickcash, $40 per free cc verify.

The $6 ifriends charge has always been because they have a small prechecked vip box that most people overlook during signup they allows them to charge that fee after one month. Uncheck that during signup and the charge never occurs.

pr0 11-21-2007 01:05 AM

If you aren't using webcams.com/affiliates/ you're waisting your time & traffic

trust me....i love opening my stats every day

its like ifriends was in 99/2000

pr0 11-21-2007 01:06 AM

hit up blake at webcams he'll take care of ya ; )

all other webcam programs are a fucking joke.......chuuuch

Zester 11-21-2007 01:23 AM

They dont give a shit..seriously

fuzzylogic 11-21-2007 05:53 AM

lol ya there will be no response from ifriends

i have been using ifriends for years and although i have heard plenty of "invalid" stories i have never heard of an email being sent out. but, it's not likely for me to hear about such things anyway.

is it possible for malware to do this?

webcams.com has some nice girls and a great interface.. u should check them out again. i think their join pages are ugly, but other than that they are my 2nd or 3rd favorite cam sponsor.

Obviously trying to make a case for webcams.com, but I wouldn't make that statement! There are more than a few that do very well and I have a few with some excellent Earnings-Per-Click numbers (the only stat I really find useful).

But one thing that many affiliates overlook is how payments work for their sponsor's site(s). Some (I won't name names) have a pain-in-the-ass process and/or get too many chargebacks and/or make it too hard to get an account.

It's a damn shame to be sending good traffic and lose it due to payment issues.
